Sanders not only lost every county in Missouri and Mississippi, he lost every county in Michigan, a state he vitally needed to win. Since Bernie has no trouble raising money it has become increasingly clear that his suport is deep but not wide. Other than the deeply committed, Bernie supporters are not voting in sufficient numbers. Biden on the other hand is getting voting support from people who don't even much like him.

Even when I thought Bernie was going to win, he would have needed a clear delegate advantage going into the convention. That's not going to happen. Although I expect him to make comebacks in some states, we all know what the party is going to do it it's close. That has never been in doubt.

I think the divisions in the Democratic party will probably cost them the election either way. Barring a miracle, the best case scenario right now IMO is Biden somehow wins the election, appoints some smart people (although most will have monied interests) and appoints some Supreme Court justices. Realistically there's not much more to hope for at this point.

I wish your analysis was all wrong. Unless I have become a victim of media's reporting of Bernie's demise, the whole thing seems to fizzle away. I actually gave a small donation to Bernie even though I was undecided. Cant believe his ground game in MI (of all places) was so weak.

I was really hoping to see Sander vs Trump; but Biden? The powers that be are squeezing every ounce of power they have untill  the inevitable changing of the guard(middle age to young voters).

Might as well forget about that because it's even less likely a Bernie Sanders primary win.

People my age aren't going to forgive and forget.  You guys missed your shot.  Should have reelected Jimmy Carter or something, I dunno.  I know I'm not voting for Biden's VP pick to run the place for the next 7-8 years and I'm far from the only one.

Establishment at the DNC, and young voters dont vote. Best was 55% in 1972. Imagine having a version of online voting to combat that.

Here's a powerful argument NOT to vote for Biden unless he changes his establishment ways:



For those who won't watch, it basically goes like this:  If Biden knows he's got all the Dems behind him, he won't listen to any of them, he'll simply appease his rich donors.

He has to earn our vote and give a bone to the working class (Medicare for All?), or we won't vote for him.
