Whoa, you left the lids on for a week? Very high humidity and no air circulation = green mold. There's really no need to cover your casings for more than a couple of days. You could try digging out the green mold and going nuts with hydrogen peroxide. I dunno, i've never encountered green mold so far (knock on wood).
