I can’t stand restaurant kitchen co-workers who won’t even fistbump. Now it’s like touch forearms. I get it’s sanitary but Christ sometimes restaurant culture is so retarded.

An old friend of mine recently got murdered in a tavern’s kitchen by a co-worker.  Guess getting into a conflict with all those knives around is a real risk.  Maybe fake sun ra shouldn’t rock the boat.

Thanks dude.  It was nuts.  I’m not even 40 yet, so most of my friends die of a drug overdose or suicide, and that’s what I assumed it was at first.  Found out later that day that he was just stabbed to death by a psycho over a misunderstanding.  Life is fuckin crazy.  Stay safe out there folks.

I was damn sure a nut when I worked in kitchens. Main reason I left the industry honestly. There was no getting my shit together working in that environment.

Lol, yeah.  I worked in a bar/restaurant for 4 years, everyone was crazy and/or addicted.  It was a lot of fun though, I made some awesome friends.  Still in touch with some of those people 15 years later.

Hello All. I made Jambalya for dinner and it was yummy. Really yummy and also so spicy that I can only eat 1 bowl at a time. In addition to that I'm doing some late night smoking of a pork shoulder. Hoping it's done in a couple hours before I need to sleep.


I found out that next week I'm going to Las Vegas. Does anyone know of anything fun to do in Las Vegas? I'm not into gambling, but will probably waste $20 to $40 on that. When the wife and baby fall asleep I will sneak out to the strip clubs. What else is there?

thanks all for the condolences and support regarding the kitty :heart:

suppose it is not so bad,
as Mom pointed out he was 11 or 12 years old now
just my tendency to view him as being "the young one" is because he was such a suck around Toby

left Toby with my mother when moving to Montréal after high school
while living in Montréal, her and my step-father found Squeakers as a kitten in the ditch near their home
he was the second feral they took in -- their other fat cat, Bits, was all full of worms when they found her
then they gave Bits to my grandma for a few years and gramma used to feed her canned tuna and stuff by hand so she got super fat

anyway, ever since Squeakers was a kitten, he would attempt to nurse from Toby, aside from their constant cuddling and sleeping together
and he would still do it to this day, which prolly gave me the psychological impression of him still being closer to 5 or 6 years

on the down side, my next time caring for their pets is going to leave Toby all confused
as he won't have anyone to cuddle and play with anymore
but for me it moreso means not having to worry about cleaning up piles of shit beside the litter pans because Squeakers untrained himself

Sorry about the cat situation Tantrika. We had to put down our dog a bit over a year ago. For the last few weeks her back legs weren't working at all so we were pretty much carrying her back and forth to the yard for bathroom breaks.

I probably mentioned this before  but I think you would probably do well at tree planting. You are paid per tree and you can make good money if you work fast.
