There may be a comeback kid moment, like Bill losing both Iowa and NH and getting still getting the nom. I have no clue. One things for certain, the DNC convention will be pay per view material.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Especially if Sanders doesn’t get 51% of delegates on the first ballot. A brokered convention will allow the other candidates, the DNC establishment, and the superdelegates to fuck over Bernie and give the nomination to some corporate fucktard like mayor pete.

Shoutout to Andrew Yang for being the most recent candidate to ride Bernie’s coattails by pretending to support Medicare For All only to release a healthcare “plan” that’s absolute dogshit.

Shoutout to Yang supporters for thinking Yang has an excellent plan to end corruption by saying things like “Let’s put an end to corruption.”

Regardless, I was told by you and other Yang supporters for months that Yang supported M4A (“it’s on his website!!!!!) and no further examination was necessary. And now that he’s completely and predictably backtracked, suddenly I’m the asshole for supporting a plan that Yang only pretended to support.

Maybe you can use some of those freedom dividends for rotator cuff surgery when you’re done moving those goalposts.

Out of interest, as a Canadian
what are the issues you see with the proposals?

he's arguing for prescription negotiations and coverage, end to lobbying, investment in health services that reach rural areas (telehealth)

am aware that the US lags behind us in coverage even if we are not perfect
but those are a number of services we have, that have not been drawn into the Supreme Court system in recent healthcare cases
but not actually clear on what the US push is towards

Some people don't understand that universal healthcare is universal healthcare. There is no patchwork system that can accomplish that goal. If the wealthy want to buy something else for themselves in addition they can, but there is no way the system can work if people can opt out. We understand that some are against this, but the minority needs to be overruled.

As I mentioned earlier the higher wage unions are going to be a problem. If Bernie gets the nomination they will surely vote for him over a unionbusting Republican, but they probably work against him in the primaries. They already have high wages and good medical insurance. My guess is they will support Biden.

Not to mention that if you employ a means tested program, the wealthy will just continue using their excellent private care and work like hell to defund any attempt at universal coverage.

at present, our system is facing legal challenges that a universal coverage system is unconstitutional on the basis that it provides undue waiting times

Quote:
Days before the start of closing arguments, the surgeon said the injunction order was a positive sign he would prevail in his court battle because Winteringham recognized patients would "suffer serious physical and/or psychological harm while waiting for health services" if they couldn't turn to private clinics.

Winteringham's words apply generally to the "nonsense" of an inadequate universal health-care system that doesn't meet patients' needs, said Day, a former president of the Canadian Medical Association.

"It's unconstitutional. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot promise health care, then not deliver it in a timely way, then outlaw the patients' ability to access it independently," he said.

"I'm confident that the evidence is in, that major harm is being done to patients by the health system as it operates."

my personal agreement is with you that universal coverage is the best option and runs risks in a tiered system
but also thinking that if your neighbour to the North passes a Human Rights declaration against universal healthcare
that a patchwork system may be the best you can hope to push for?

please do correct me tho, this is where my stated lack of comprehension with the issue with your posted imagetext brings up for me

I’m not so sure. Bernie has a ton of union support, and is THE labor candidate. Not to mention M4A has a provision which ensures the hard won healthcare rights of labor unions will be offset by pay increases. But yeah I’m sure there will be top union “thugs” who would rather continue to hang their hats on the victories of the past rather than have to keep fighting forward.

So are you saying Bernie winning could cause me to lose my awesome union healthcare ?  I don’t think I want that to happen .

I'm guessing Bernie has the support of the 20 and 30 dollar an hour unions and not the 40 and 50 dollar an hour unions.

You’ll have more bargaining power if you don’t have to haggle about healthcare. And your employer will have more money for wage increases if they’re not having to subsidize union healthcare costs.

Everybody wins (except the insurance companies).
