Can you stall mycelium??
    #26166905 -

I have some shoebox’s going that i started when i really shouldn't have due to commitments out of town,  there not quite colonised yet, if i put them in the fridge, would it stall them untill removed? not ideal i know but i cant find another solution!

Yes, the cold will slow them down a lot. Fridges are pretty dirty though. I wouldn't do it unless i really had to.

Great! in the fridge they go!

Ive a ‘drinks fridge’. so that should be alot cleaner than the norm.

I've never done this or researched it at all but, if i were to do it I'd throw each in a brand new  gallon hefty slide lock bag. May be overkill but I'd do it.

Why not just let them fruit though. What's your schedule?

schedule is...  spawned on the 29th, they've been growing quick since!  im leaving on the 7th, due for return on the 17th...

i was thinking ill fridge them untill i leave on the 7th, then take them out to carry on whilst im gone. i cant leave them in the fridge whilst im gone as i share my accommodation with someone who knows not of the fungi (there away atm)

ok so ive fridged them !  i feel ive gained hope!  if intake them out last minute then technically ive gained 4days of growth that could save them from a sporey mess!

its far from ideal and i really am kicking myself!  but if all goes to shit ive got 4more litre grain jars that’l be ready for spawning when i return!

I'd put the lids on all the way. Shoe box lids don't seal very well as is. I think those suckers will be drier than the dickens in 10 days. You don't have a friend that can check in on em on day five or so and give a quick mist if needed?

i dont im afraid, im new to the area and don't have any friends!
The room is a bit damp, we usually run a dehumidifier, plus my field capacity of substrate was a tad wet, so ill cling onto that hope!

unknowingly participating in felonious activities.... damn! I feel like you and i are the only ones reading this thread but, just so you know, some folks around hear would give you a really hard time about that. I'm not but some would. just a heads up. Not that it would really matter if a couple random online anonymous persons gave you shit for a decision you made.

Yeah...that's a pretty slimy to have an innocent person participate in your activities.
Beyond that, a fine example of stalling mycelium. Kudos!
