Not in a tub

Has anyone ever tried to build structures out of plywood? So much talk about tubs here, why are aquarium shaped plywood enclosures not talked about more? There must be a reason I am overlooking. With the flooding harvest technique, I would think someone is using plywood instead of tubs. Is it just the cost factor, with tubs being so cheap?

Wood soaks up moisture is heavy and far more expensive and the tub itself would be a vector for contam. That's just a few off the top of my head. But be assured thers many more reasons like clear lid and such that ups the work/cost.

Ive seen people do em out side. Tubs are just easier.

Tubs are cheap and modular. They also let in light.

I don't personally know anyone using the flood tek to harvest.  If you have more than a couple tubs it just doesn't seem practical to me.

I was thinking flooding would be more of a logistical nightmare. Where to put a drain that won't compact. From the plywood aquarium perspective tho, I imagined the effort would pay for itself with an increased cubic footprint. The plywood it self could be sealed perfectly, but that portability of the tubs is hard to beat.

I was assuming costs and risk of contam are at the top. Thanks for input
