Hello

I've just been out for a walk and reckon I've found my first Psilocybe subaeruginosa. These were found in a coastal area south of Hobart amongst bracken and Eucalyptus trees. Funnily enough I've been looking for subaeruginosa for a few weeks now in similar environments, yet these are the only ones I've managed to find with that distinctive Psilocybe golden colour and faint blue bruising in parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, never foraged for mushrooms with potentially deadly lookalikes before. Cheers.

(bonus points for knowing what that purple thing is)

Subs vary alot depending on weather and conditions you find them in. That said, to me yes those look like passed their prime subs, however I'm not a TI so I cannot advise you to ingest those until a trusted identifier takes a look. You can hit up the user list since you've gotten no reply from a TI  since posting. Try sending Duggstar, or Doc9151 a pm and link them to your thread if you need to know now.

You can also always dry the specimens and wait a while and eventually one will see it.

The purple one is Cortinarius archeri, and the others are Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Thanks very much Dugg, Taco and Boom. Really appreciate it.

I attach a final few photos of another suspected P. subaeruginosa that I found growing from under a collapsed eucalyptus tree in a wood-chipped re-wilding area at 180m above sea level. Pretty sure I've identified it correctly but best to get a 2nd opinion.
