Nope, they're stealing form private businesses, it's not "our stuff".

If capitalists from the West don't like doing business with them, nobody is forcing it. Yet, the capitalists do continue to do business with China because it's highly profitable. Capitalists from the West don't care about US interests, it's all about the money and nothing else.

Why the fuck is even Trump negotiating for US companies, if they don't like it they should leave.

And that's something that US companies allow in the interests of doing business with China. If that was such a big problem that the profit margins weren't worth it, they wouldn't do business there.

I though the US was a capitalist country? Profit is king.

Well, maybe the US government shouldn't do business with companies that do business in China. But they won't, because that would be more expensive.

Profit is more valuable than state secrets. Just as it should be. Because capitalism. Everything is for sale at the right price. If you disagree, go back to communist China.

The problem is: what you think “US interests” are, and what they actually are, are two very different things.

You believe the obligation of US power structure is to benefit the many, or the working class, or “the native.” It is not. That’s been clear since July 4, 1776, when we (white male aristocrats) decided it wasn’t in their personal interest to pay tax to King George anymore. Side note: the UK abolished slavery 34 years before the US did (and didn’t need a Civil War to accomplish it). The US hasn’t even been a democracy until AT LEAST 1965 after the Civil Rights Act. But still today we have voter purges, felon disenfranchisement, gerrymandered districts, etc. Enough of this fantasy that the capitalists somehow took hold of the system and perverted it. They’ve always had the system and it continues to work just as intended.

I thought so, but I don’t see what that has to do with mutual exclusivity. I know I mentioned it once earlier in a previous discussion, but i don’t see how that relates to this discussion.

Eh, I still buy almost exclusively Chinese shit.

It's cheaper, and roughly similar quality compared to American goods.

Plus I can't find pants with a 28-29 waist and a 34 leg in the US. Used to be possible five years ago, if you dug through every pair in the store you might find one or two, nowadays, it's just not possible.

I hate chinese garbage.  I'm not saying american made shit is much better at this point, but every time i go into an elderly customer's garage and see all the powertools from the 60's and 70's that still work and will continue to work long after my chinese bullshit tools are in a landfill, i get slightly irritated.

I wore 30x32's in 9th grade :lol:

I got to use a vintage 1940's drill press at a client's house a few weeks ago, man.  Rock solid tool and a pleasure to use it. 

Dude is 85, has dementia, and his wife is trying to give me all sorts of his vintage stuff that she calls "Harry's junk". I told her I'd run a couple trailer loads of actual junk to the dump in trade for some stuff, but his sons have taken just about all of the best items as they rightly should.

I already have a spot picked out in my shop for that press :solidnod:
