Yeah her body went into starvation mode probably because of too little calories.


Recently had the same probably after converting to a low fat diet due to health issues (no gallbladder, bad liver.) Holy shit the volume of grains and vegetables you need to eat to get the same calories as a steak. Like one 8oz steak is probably equal to several dozen bags of spinach.

I'm not against eating animal products tho so with a lot of chicken, nutrition drinks, and unfortunately sugar I'm slowly gaining some weight back.

Vegan diets are doable but tuey REQUIRE math and research. And probably supplements.

People give dogs anti-depressants too.

I think it's fucking sick, personally.

But then I feel like that about most things us humans do to animals...

My old family dog was prescribed Xanax later in life because the poor dog became an anxious mess. It's not any wonder why since he didn't get enough exercise and my family teased him relentlessly with things they knew made him insecure.



My cat gets a gabapentine before going to the vet because she would otherwise hurt you and herself. She freaks the fuck out when you try to put her in a carrier. I think this might be from abuse from her previous owners. 2 parents that hated her and a 5 year old who wasn't taught how to handle a kitty.
It's really sad because she's otherwise the sweetest most tolerant cat I've ever met.

If overpopulation weren't such a serious problem I would say people shouldn't be allowed pets without a licence. And a caregiving course required for that.
