Some cats you can give fruit to.
My cat won't eat her meal if there's OJ smell in it, so i try to get one or two drops instead.

Most animals will stick their nose up and just not eat it.

My dog will eat peas if they escape off plates onto the floor during dinnertime. But if you put peas in his dish he will somehow inhale all the other food in about 20 seconds and leave the peas behind.

Fuck that shit. It's basically slow-release pet poison. Dogs and cats CAN'T be vegan as they require some amino acids (like taurine) that are actually produced by animals. You can get taurine from veggie sources - like peas - but for some reason it doesn't process right when they digest it. Peas are being used as a protein source in a lot of high end put foods and generating lots of taurine deficiency in dogs and leading to heart problems in big dogs. My mixed Aussie/Cattle Dog pooch went through this (causes hip problems in herding dogs) so now I'm giving her a chicken liver a day and it works great.

Well dogs will eat some plants, berries and stuff as needed.

Cats on the the other hand won't touch it in the wild. That's why kitty here looks so pissed..

Dogs are more omnivorous than cats so they can do a vegan diet.

It's not optimal for them but it could arguably be better than generic kibble. Some dogs are allergic to most meats, odd as it sounds.

Dogs are meat eaters.  Recently I read a news story about a young lady who was sick and not menstruating from a vegan diet.  It's A LOT more calories than you need to get 50 grams protein a day.  A lot more fat as well.

Yeah her body went into starvation mode probably because of too little calories.


Recently had the same probably after converting to a low fat diet due to health issues (no gallbladder, bad liver.) Holy shit the volume of grains and vegetables you need to eat to get the same calories as a steak. Like one 8oz steak is probably equal to several dozen bags of spinach.

I'm not against eating animal products tho so with a lot of chicken, nutrition drinks, and unfortunately sugar I'm slowly gaining some weight back.

Vegan diets are doable but tuey REQUIRE math and research. And probably supplements.

My old family dog was prescribed Xanax later in life because the poor dog became an anxious mess. It's not any wonder why since he didn't get enough exercise and my family teased him relentlessly with things they knew made him insecure.



My cat gets a gabapentine before going to the vet because she would otherwise hurt you and herself. She freaks the fuck out when you try to put her in a carrier. I think this might be from abuse from her previous owners. 2 parents that hated her and a 5 year old who wasn't taught how to handle a kitty.
It's really sad because she's otherwise the sweetest most tolerant cat I've ever met.

If overpopulation weren't such a serious problem I would say people shouldn't be allowed pets without a licence. And a caregiving course required for that.
