Grow tent ?

I am considering a grow tent. with this method I would not put the lids on the plastic bins right?

what type of light is best for this?

Also what is suggested for a humidifier?

Should I Put a small HEPA Filter inside the tent? or in the room outside of the tent only

Also cool mist or evaporative humidifier? I was considering getting one with a filter, would that be any help with a filter? Most of the cool mist do not have a filter.

I also purchased a power strip with timers for lights, and fan, humidifier. What type of light cycle works best?

1) What are you filtering for?
2) You want a humidifier that has an on/off switch/dial. You want to ensure that when your timer goes on so does your humidifier. You do not want it to be automated on the humidifier for when it is on/off. That's all you need to worry about really.

HEPA Filter for Filtering out bacteria and any contaminants in the air. I read somewhere that a filter would help reduce risk of contamination also. I am still somewhat new so I am open to suggestions.

I have hard water so should I use a cool mist or evaporative humidifier?

The Tek above is the way to go. The Tek has the humidifier u should look for but u need to buy distilled water for it:thumbup:

True, sorry, that's a much more accurate statement. I just meant it cleans it up some so that it doesn't wreck your humidifier.

Me? Buildup of ... "minerals" :lol: I don't have super bad problems (we have great tap water in Chicago), but I've also never run a humidifier as much as I have for my tent, so I figured some kind of help would improve the longevity. And fuck buying gallons of distilled water every 3-4 days. I know it's not the best, but distilled>filtered>tap water for humidifiers.

Its cheaper to just toss the humidifier every 6-12 months and get a new one than using distilled water. But growing in a tent is meh for mushrooms.

What do you guys think about using fans with air ducts for air exchange? an intake or exhaust fan? or both?  These are the same exhaust fans used in marijuana grow tents.  They also have a carbon filter attached to the fans.

That is the one thing I was worried, about. It may get too humid in the tent, causing mold.

I guess it depends on your need and budget.  I wouldn't bother with a tent unless its for exotics or gourmets, just too many easy ways to grow cubes. 

As far as fans, ducts and filters:
These need to be rated for high humidity, cleaned often and the carbon will probably get saturated quickly...

I was referring to stagnant air that has a high CO2 level causing mold.

IMO a tent is the proverbial basket where you put all your metaphorical eggs in. Easy to contam or otherwise fuck up everything at once. Smaller containers also allow for experimentation and learning without risking all the work you put in.

It you have multiple tents on the other hand...
