Another newbie question...

Hello all! Thank you for your help so far. I have watched/read many videos/websites/tutorials but sometimes just getting advice from experience is best. Ok, so I inoculated 6 jars on 4/24. 3 with one spore syringe, and 3 with another. One jar got contaminated so I dumped that. 3 jars have growth and look good and remaining 2 have nothing. No mycelium growth, no contaminants, no appearance of anything happening at all. I’m assuming they aren’t going to take, correct? And if that is the case, can I try injecting it again or do I need to dump contents and start over? Thank you all.

Dnt do cakes anymore but use to see myc in 9 days. Your not that far. Possibly temp is low.
I suppose if the needle was white hot when you knocked them up then that might cause a prob.

Get some pics up and hopefully a cakemaster will chime in.

Before the agar police come by, I'd say if for any reason your jars failed to take off, I'd illiminate every reasonable suspicion. Grain is cheap, PC a new batch and try again.

Then get some agar and be ready to clone some good specimens.

Temp is around 28C. All the jars are on the same shelf. The 3 that are growing look great. I used the oven door method and wiped needle with alcohol and heated it till it was red hot inbetween each jar. I did discover I used too much spore solution. I’ll get pics, give me a few mins.

Patience is a virtue, spores can take up to 3 weeks to germinate or as little as 3-4 days. Depends on the conditions and the spores. Wouldnt give up yet, but when you do definitely dump the jrs and start over.

I shot up 25 cakes on 5-1 from 30 CCs solution made from a light spore print of a new strain I'm working with and 80% are 25% or better. Lots of experimental stuff going on there. I have brf, cannabis and brf combination and "cannabis flour" cakes made from spent cannabis that has been stripped with solvents to nearly the inactive point. It's exciting, the cannabis cakes are winning. If cannabis is effective I'm planning to add some to wheat jars soon.

I have lots of clones and isolated strains on agar. The self made MS syringes were more practice and genetics search.
