My First Grow * 1

So I got hooked on this site a few weeks ago. March 1st I decided to read stamets mushroom cultivator, and got hooked. Watched hours of you tube stuff, and decided to give it a try. Ordered several spore syringes, could not decide which route I wanted to go. inoculated some BRF jars on 3/23- still not fully colonized. Also inoculated bird seed and popcorn jars. Made a LC jar and inoculated that also. Anyhow, I found shroomery a couple weeks ago and a few of the posts, and teks submitted have cleared a nice path. For other noobs, here is where I found my clarity. First I need to thank a couple people, bodhisatta for his all in one easy as fuck ideas. Great place to start. Also pasty, rr, an several others. Anyhow I am doing several teks and posting as I go along. I will just start with today. Last night was searching for pics of pinning as i initiated fruiting 4 days ago on a few 12 quart trays and put a few in a un-mod 80 quart tubs and one in a mono tub auto with single head mist and exhaust fan, done before finding shroomery. I got pins today woohoo!! Will see if i can upload photo. Testing out posting real quick. Shit I may need to go back and read the rules. I am doing this as a thread, if not right and should be grow log, or something else. Here are my first pins!!

So I am done with PC grains, will wait till morning to do GRG. Some popcorn, and some WBS. Going forward will be using oats. Specifically Bodhisatta AEF oat tek. Save me alot of $$. Tractor supply 50# bag 12.99. Doing Masters GRG. Will be doing only Agar, but only if i can get spore prints from successful fruiting!! Hence why I am covering my ass with GRG and LC for now, but hope to get mushies soon!! BTW I did get this laminar flow hood for almost as much as building one. Got hooked up, otherwise would not have invested before even getting a flush.

G2G Transfers done. Still nervous about these fruiting, worried about pin set. More this morning, but I was expecting alot more and uniform. humidity 90%, Temp 73, FAE cracked lid during day as in bodhisatta AEF un mod tek. Fanning also 4x day mist as needed(not sub or pins, walls and lid)

I am trying the easy as fuck method and shoebox similar tray by bodhisatta, did only coir which you can refer to his substrate tek and shoebox tek here. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=24297804&page=0&vc=1#24297804. Anyways I used 2 spawn and 2 coir quarts. I covered the spawn about half inch with coir and put immediately into fruiting conditions. I think this dome gives enough room for co2 build up during dark period. During the day i crack lid as done in tek(easy AF no mod) and misting as needed. With just coir it is easier to tell when it needs watering IMO. Anyhow here's a couple pics. Mycelium is breaking through, today is day 2.

I have the same flowhood. At the time, it was easy and cheaper than building, but now I wish I built a monster. Soon...

Day 4 pins. Day 2 after G2G transfer, colonizing rapidly. Trying easy AF oat tek. First wbs thus far has provided fastest colonization, and absolutely most inoculation points. Corn has been my favorite for one reason, no need to hit the fuck out of it to break up spawn. No gypsum doesn’t help with the wbs I use. Clumps suck. However corn seems to suck ass for inoculation points so far anyhow no matter how much spawn I use. So trying out the oats compared to popcorn and wbs. Inoculated with 12c of mycelium and expect full colonization in 5 days. Guess we shall see!!

So I have too much spawn and not enough tubs. Still haven’t had a flush yet so this is all experimenting. Anyhow I set this up. Temps are hard to manage but stays 66-72. I keep it 72 during the day which makes the 5 head mist maker work so hard to keep humidity at 85%. Until temps can be sustained at 72-75 without supplemental heating will cover at night with domes and lids. Anyhow fresh air intake from mistmaker but also have exhaust and in take fans kicks on for one minute every 2 hours. Size of room and 260 cfm fans replenishes room in about 45 seconds. Another experiment for those interested in semi bulk grow. Fresh air is not filtered but also coming from cool dry area low in potential contaminants. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated!!

Thanks everyone I’m excited. Looking like these are close to done. The big one in back left corner looks like in next 12-24 hours I’m guessing veil will break. Just guessing from research. Not sure
