Part of the problem seems to be these guys don’t know the difference between non-residents, non-citizens, legal immigrants and undocumented immigrants. Let’s throw in foreign tourists for shits and googles.

It's in the context of HR1. I went over HR1 and didn't see anything that would allow illegal aliens to vote in federal elections.

Fine be concerned.

Even that article admits that this is in response to local election policies.

"Federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for federal office. But the GOP motion referenced how San Francisco is allowing non-citizens, including illegal immigrants, to register to vote in school board elections."

You can say it's radical or a slippery slope. But to my knowledge it has NEVER been against federal law for a locality to have non citizens vote.

It's another case of calling something that has been going on for 245 years a #crisis.

You dont think that slowly giving non residents more and more voting rights wouldn't lead to them voting on federal elections?
Give an inch take a mile.
If you get to vote on small municipal elections that would probably pave the way and make cases for them to have their voting rights broadened. I think its a slippery slope and a bad precedent. Dont let them vote on anything until they are lawful citizens. Thats probably the best practice.


Show us where in the bill more rights are given to non residents.


If you didn't get the memo im hypothesizing of what the bill could lead to down the road. So do you think the bill could lead to broadening their voting rights, and possibly leading to them being able to vote on federal elections. If you dont think so why not?

Because I read the bill.

It might make it easier for non citizens to vote where it is already allowed, since it makes it easier to register and vote in general.

For the record; there is language in the bill about registering 16 year olds to vote.

I don't have time right now to look into whether they could actually vote at 16. But if so I'm against it.

You should at least be old enough to be responsible for your own life before you can vote.

Does your concept of self-defence only exist for the individual? Both the legal definition and my own understanding include a recognition that self-defence can involve protecting both yourself and others from harm.

In my experience, "white pride" organizations inevitably display a racist and supremacist ideology. This probably has an impact on the reception of white power groups.
