First grow, possible contam? Pics included.

Hey all!

So my first time grow. Its a dome kit. Everything seems to have gone well enough. Until last night. This is Day 6 of fruiting. The kit sits out for 12 hours a day under a 15w bulb in a room with a lot of indirect light. I've been misting the casing soil every morning, and that's when the dome is lifted, other than that the dome stays clamped to the box, where there are spaces for air flow. The room has zero humidity, that time of the year here, and is kept at an average of 25 degrees Celsius. There is never humidity on the inside of the dome, I don't know if that's significant. Casing started well, but last night I noticed around the edges, and only the edges the the mycelium has gone yellow/brown and hard in some spots, and is pulling away from the edge. As well I see some hard dark green deposits and some yellow droplets. The middle of the casing seems to be doing well with mycelium fingers spreading and cottony white growth.
Can anyone identify my issues and help with a solution? Is it salvageable? If not, is it contaminating my house and area with spores? Included are 3 pics of the edges with the discoloration and hardening, and 1 of the middle where all seems well.

Yellow is bacteria causing metabolites, the blue is likely bruising. Likely where humidity is high around the edges, which probably means your FAE is lacking

Thanks for this insight! Is there anything I can do about the yellow and metabolites, will some more FAE help with that?

Just make sure you have enough air flow, don't mist unless its dry, and even then not more than ever couple days

Hey i think i have some of that yellowing aswell in a spot or two in my tub.
So its metabolites?

It's hard for me to tell in this pic, and I'm far from an expert. Theres some minor yellowing but the myc looks good. All in all it looks far healthier than mine, but again, I'm on my first grow! Good luck!

I've not seen too much mentioned about that but I'll look more into it. The blue/green is definitely only in two very small spots but the yellow/brown is pretty invasive around the entire edge right now, I've got a bad feeling about it lol

Thanks. It's still there, and seems to have "hardened" more in spots, but hasn't spread. I noticed some definite pins today starting in the nice white myc so it's still doing what it's supposed to. I've increased FAE and decreased misting and am just keeping a close eye on it.

I've noticed there are some species of Penicillium that don't compete well and result in a small amount of sporulation on the sides like that along with some metabolite production. I'd just keep an eye on it for now. If you start seeing more green spores or notice any unusual odors or any other symptoms it could be something more serious.

Thanks! Nothing has advanced and there is no foul odor as of pic posting. I appreciate the advice :smile:
