He knows that if he loses on the wall that it's all over. His report card is pretty poor as is, especially so now that the markets are taking a dive. Eventually the Dems will give him a few B for the wall and everything will reopen. It will still be seen as a loss for Trump as the wall will continue to flounder. With construction projects like these it's all or nothing. You can't half ass it and you have to be willing to spend 30% more than anticipated to do it right.

I'm not fine with it at all, I'm just pointing out this isn't the first Government shutdown we've ever had, and it certainly doesn't warrant physical removal from the White House.

Well that’s like your opinion, you’re also fine with Russian spies crafting our foreign policies. So forgive me if I seem out of line but who gives a fuck what you have to say?

Furthermore, nobody is willing to discuss what a long term shutdown will do for the economy. So there’s no honest debate here, as per normal.

Why do people buy sophisticated home and car security systems?  Because it's cost effective relative to the alternative.

Who other than the super rich says I don’t care how much my home security system costs ?
If you don’t care about the cost than we should repeal trumps tax cut for them .
I build walls for a living , If you want me to get on board with your idea you need to start by explaining to me why these people are wrong , I don’t like throwing money away on fantasies .

I agree, this is political theater for the peasants and nothing more, they periodically have to show the US population they're "fighting" for their interests.

Both sides are likely to claim victory after a deal is finally made. It's all for show.

There's no political will for a "wall" or to enhance border enforcement, the elite love the status quo at the expense of the US citizen.

Technically, it's the Democrats who are holding the Government hostage for 5 billion dollars.  Trump is holding the Government hostage for a wall.

I don’t care how you word it, the government isn’t going to open until Trump gets 5 billion for a wall.

Of course you dont't care what the correct wording is, you just said the Government shouldn't be held hostage for $5 billion, and that $5 billion is on the democrats.

Either Trump has to give up his wall, or the Democrats have to give up $5 billion.  If you think it's stupid to hold the Government hostage for $5 billion, then you think the Democrats are stupid.  If you'd rather spend more than $5 billion on a shutdown that accomplishes nothing than spending $5 billion on a wall, then you think Trump is stupid.

That's more make believe.  I just told you that if anyone supported Russia over the US "they would absolutely be a traitor."

In that same post I also asked you "if Russia DIDN'T interfere in our elections and as an American, owing your allegiance to America, you make believe that they did, does that make you a patriot?"  I'm still waiting for your answer.

I'll discuss it.  The Government Shutdown Will Cost More Than Trump's $5 Billion Border Wall Funding, According to Experts

I think they’re all stupid as fuck and if it were up to me this bullshit would end, now. I already know Russia interfered in our elections, so it’s quite the moot point.

Fal, let’s be honest for a second. You can be on both sides of the issue at any given time. That’s your choice. I’ve heard enough from you as I’ve heard enough from Trump, the GOP and the Democrats.

They’ve all done a disservice to this country and it’s time for some real change.

I don’t follow liars, I don’t follow bullshit artists and I won’t follow the weak minded. You can have it, for me, this isn’t near good enough. Not good enough today

And I'm not arguing with you.  In fact, I started a whole thread on it.

If you study the data, you'll find the extent of the interference was incidental.  Sure, a Russian trying to make a few bucks selling a Bernie coloring book may have influenced someone to vote for Hillary, but there wasn't a real propaganda campaign.

And you should be happy about that.

The Nation analyzed the data in the two Senate-commissioned reports and summarized their findings.  If you have a better source of such an analysis, I'd love to see it.

You said The Nation is a pro-Russia magazine?  Source?

No, I don’t have any addition sources on the analysis of or the studies commissioned by congress.  Media Bias Fact Check.com mentions The Nation as pro Russia.

Couple articles also showing a connection between The Nation and Russia:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thinkprogress.org/the-nation-is-publishing-with-rt-434f02f16bde/amp/

https://www.chronicle.com/article/Is-This-Professor-Putin-s/241777

Apparently, it’s pretty well known that it has a pro-Russia slant.  Of course they’re gonna interpret the findings in a way that fits their bias/narrative.

Not hating on Russia, or wanting the truth about Russia, doesn't mean you have a "pro-Russia" bias.  Many people don't seem to realize that.  I'm accused of being a "Putin lover" simply because I ask people for facts when they make believe things about him.

Regardless, let's stick with the facts and ingore anything that might be biased.  Here are a few things from the report in my other thread, that have NOTHING to do with bias:

- Political content was just 11% of the total content attributed to the Internet Research Agency (IRA)
- Only 7% of IRA's Facebook posts mentioned Trump or Clinton by name
- IRA’s Facebook spending between 2015 and 2017 was $73,711; $46,000 of which was spent on Facebook ads before the 2016 election
(vs $81 million spent on Facebook ads by the Clinton and Trump campaigns)
- Russian-linked accounts spent $4,700 on Google ads

If any of these facts are incorrect, please let me know.

That’s kind of my point....just because they only mentioned the candidates names 7% and talked politics 11% of the time, we’re to conclude there was no organization or campaign behind it?  There are plenty of ways to sow discord and politically influence people without directly mentioning politics.  Would you agree?

It's theoretically possible, but highly unlikely based on the numbers.  It's more likely to be Russians trying to earn a living selling coloring books or posting click bait ads.  Like I said, it is possible a Bernie coloring book adverised on Facebook might convince someone not to vote for Hillary, but the people truly sowing discord in the US right now is the establishment media with 24/7 conspiracy theories about Russia.

Yet none of them ever pan out.  Here's a good recent example:

The missing link: Manafort secretly met with Julian Assange days before joining Trump Campaign

This was the bombshell story that finally provided the evidence of Trump Russia collusion everyone was looking for.  Except the story turned out to be fake.

From a few days ago:

Five Weeks After The Guardian’s Viral Blockbuster Assange-Manafort Scoop, No Evidence Has Emerged

This is the kind of shit that sows discord in the American public.  We have people like Krypto thinking 100 nothing burgers must add up to something.  Except it doesn't.  100 x 0 = 0.
