Those "experts" are border agents who work part of the border and have at least a high school diploma and as border agents have loads of stories about catching people.

There is a long list of successful walls though. The Great Wall for example is a particularly effective tourist destination. It failed as a wall though. Then there is the walls of The Alamo, which protected PeeWee's bike rather well. I could go on...

Are those the "experts"?  Or just the one's you listen too?

Or are you fine with false narratives to win the argument?

I think you really need to get over this "conservative" vs "liberal" mentality, there's hypocrisy on every issue.

"Conservative" vs "Liberal" mentality? We're talking about Donald Trump's stupid ass boarder wall. Who are all of these Democrats who want a stupid ass boarderwall? That's a stupid ass conservative idea.

That’s great. Donald trump’s wall is to be paid for by Mexico. There’s no reason to even debate this. That’s what he said.

Who cares what he said, he lies all the time. We want enhanced border enforcement.

That's a fence, not a wall, and it was proposed during the Bush administration, by stupid ass Republicans.

Where are all of these other examples?

If the experts think a wall could work, that's fine. If they think there's a better way to enforce the border, that's also fine in my opinion.

And who voted for it?  You can't have it both ways.

It was money allocated to enforce the border, fence or wall, do you really want to turn this into semantics?

For the record, Republicans always wanted an open border but talked the political game as well.  There's no integrity with the McCain's of the world.

I suppose draft dodging Donnie has integrity, though?

If that's the case, then he shouldn't be talking to congress, he should be talking to Mexico!

The difference between a fence and a wall is probably somewhere around 25 billion dollars.

we have plenty of money for a wall
jus no one wants it, too much free labour coming in and the dem's see it as a barrier to new voters

the dems in cali are giving illegals drivers licences now
if that makes them get insurance maybe that's a good thing
most of them seem to drive without insurance and when they get in a crash the cops cant do anything

I'm pretty sure every state lets illegals get driver's licenses.

No it would be very harmful. Undocumented account for 60% of agricultural labor. We can not afford to lose that labor force.

Then deport the ones not working in agriculture. If they're needed they should be documented and monitored.  Undocumented illegals are a bad thing. And bullshit like sanctuary cities or giving them drivers licenses, is irresponsible and setting a bad precedent

Yes, they should be documented, and if there is a need to have them here in the United States, then we should make it possible for them to be here legally. When people are living here illegally, they are more likely to be subject to abuse.

You know, if I want to move to another country, there are a lot of hoops for me to jump through, and I wouldn't even qualify for a lot of countries. I have a whole book that outlines the laws about how to get visas, and citizenship in other countries, and it isn't easy, almost anywhere you go.

I think that America should have a pathway to citizenship, but I think we need to act in our best interest, and be selective, as does every other country in the world. I don't believe that the current situation is in our best interest, though. We should not have a system that can't function without laws being broken. We should adjust the laws.

Well exactly. I think they should be tough on illegals who are here illegally. At least in Canada they document, and hold the Mexicans to Canadian law and ensure they leave after harvest. I don't want foreigners here per say to work and go home because i feel a Canadian can do the job. But at least its controlled and we know when the workers come here, who they work for and stay at and know exactly when they leave. Seems pretty fair
