They do more than that. "MAOIs act by inhibiting the activity of monoamine oxidase, thus preventing the breakdown of monoamine neurotransmitters and thereby increasing their availability."

I dont get what the face palm is about? I said what you said just dumbed down seeing as you said the brain breaks down MAOI's i didnt know what your knowledge was so have some back :facepalm::facepalm3: lol. Your last post was worded in a way that said MAOI's make it harder for things like Tryptamines for the brain to uptake, if thats not what you meant please reread it and youll see. I was just correcting without having to google the actual answers.

On the subject of MAO-B inhibitors, would something like Selegiline make you fail a drugs test for amphetamines? As it is a substituted phenethylamine, and two of its metabolites are methamphetamine and amphetamine albeit the levoritory isomer. My mum was prescribed them years back when her husband died of cancer just popped into my head for some reason.

Not really i said "In essence they make it harder for your brain to break down the goodies." Which your right, again, isn't directly the brain. But in my mind it doesn't imply that it makes it harder to uptake, it implies what it says which is "essentially" what maois do. Which to reiterate is inhibiting the activity of monoamine oxidase, thus preventing the breakdown of monoamine neurotransmitters and thereby increasing their availability.

I heard once of a preparation where people would have a concentrated "stick" of mushrooms about the size of a tootsie roll, and shave thin (or thick) pieces off for use.  Actually found methods described at one point, but don't recall. 

When you say "sticky shards" it makes me think they could be compressed together to achieve that.  Have you ever tried that or have you or anyone else heard of or come across a method?  Thanks for any replies.
