Yeah, it's 4000 this time and then 8000 the next time, and then 50,000 the next time and the same rationalization can, and will be used to justify the non-enforcement of the border.

You don't select when you choose to uphold the laws depending on the cost structure of each individual case, you just up hold the law ALL of the time regardless of the cost efficiency at the time.

It's all about values. They want open borders for votes. But they don't want the Mexican Catholics. They are bad

The dems elected to build a fence or everyone elected to build a fence?

I don't support paying them, I think that's a waste of money and not a reasonable demand, however so do I think sending the troops down at a cost of 2 billion or whatever is a waste of money. When you weigh one against the other if paying them to leave is cheaper then doesn't that actually make more sense? It may not make isolationists feel fuzzy and warm inside, but at the end of the day it will do more to actually improve their quality of life.

Border enforcement provides an excellent return on investment relative to having a first world nation flooded with millions of broke third world migrants.

Broke? They come here to work. I just don’t get the argument that the most motivated workforce in America are a drag on the economy.

Don't you know, they're lazy and don't work while also taking all of our jobs.

That is simply not true and completely facitious. If the reason you uphold a law is to shpport yourself financially yet it becomes financially more costly to uphold it than to change it the rational person would reflect on what purpose the law then serves. I understand this may be what you would do, but don't impart your personal neurosis on the rest of us.

Then change and law and stop complaining about the financial logistics associated with enforcing it.

We don't stop enforcing murder laws because it's costly to arrest, prosecute and imprison certain guilty criminals, when it's cheaper to just give the victims family a bunch of money.

We choose not to uphold laws ALL THE FUCKING TIME. The justice system would cease to function if we didn’t. Every time you drive by a cop going ten MPH over the speed limit, you are benefiting from selective enforcement.

Without selective prosecution there would be no enforcement or ateast vastly lower conviction rates.  Da's want conviction rates so they choose to prosecute on hoe easy a case on evidence is.

Plus the deck is stacked.  That is why people become cops.

Now a wall is somehow different because it would work.

A fence is useless but a wall is awesome? Explain that

You’ve pretty much admitted here that barriers don’t really work.

Look, it’s been two years. Face it. Trump is a totally incompetent fool who couldn’t negotiate himself out of a paper bag. North Korea. Trade. The border wall. It’s not going to happen. Get over it. You voted for a liar and con man. He’s pathetic.

Who is "we choose not to uphold laws", cops, DA's or judges?  I agree, there's some discretion like everything else in the world. But for the most part, the major laws are enforced.

How am I "benefiting from selective enforcement"?

Why would anyone want thousands of broke migrants invading their homelands and causing socioeconomic chaos?

The socioeconomic chaos is manufactured and imagined.

Nobody. Why is the trump administration not processing migrants as they come? It’s been a month. What the fuck is the problem? Incompetence and willful metering of claims.

Ships full of hundreds of migrants used to show up everyday in ports around the country. These migrants didn’t have visas. They just showed up with very few resources, and we handled it. Officials didn’t have computers or tools to make their jobs easier. The current employees of the CBP just are lazy, corrupt and incompetent.

I haven't taken a poll or anything, but I believe they dont like the wall because they view it as excessively expensive and ineffective; it's not economical. The fence is comparitively cheap and intentionally put in the most beneficial areas only. I have never gotten the impression thst democrats are against things because they work.

You better tell the residents of Tijuana they're imagining everything that's going wrong.

Yeah a couple thousand people in one spot isn’t analogous to a couple thousand people in a country of 320 million.

I think that's his point, you're using tijaunans being upset as a justification for being upset yourself despite nothing actually impacting you in reality. That is distinct from feeling empathetic for them, you don't feel thst way because of them, you felt that way already and use them as a means to justify it.

It kind of reminds me when fag bashers try to convince me I should hate Muslims because of gay rights in Islamic countries. Qman doesn’t care about people in Tijuana. He just wants to use their situation to support his argument.
