Please, oh wise one, inform me with you're infinite knowledge, compassion, and intelligence, how would one peacefully remove Saddam??? There is no way that works, otherwise we would be doing it. War is not the first choice of the US, it's the last.

Dont give him power and weapons in the first place then change your mind when its convenient.
Assuming he "needs" to be removed....

do you know any history??? ever heard of WWII??? the bombing tactics used then were designed to wipe out whole cities, not single buildings. That's much less brutal eh?? Quote:
You are unable to see these facts. You merely spout the rhetoric you are fed through the media.
Those aren't facts. My father was an apache pilot in the first gulf war and is now an instructor, my cousin is a ranger, my stepcousin is in the airforce, my uncle was a ranger and is now an instructor, my grandfather was a bomber pilot in the Korean war and is now a published military historian, specifically concentrating on the history of air warfare. I spout facts from the mouths of five people who have actually seen combat, not rhetoric from the media. But you would know better than them wouldn't you??

basically every country in the UN agrees that Saddam needs to be removed from power not only for the saftey of the iraqi people, but for the safety of the region as a whole. Also, there seems to be a general misconception around here that we somehow had something to do with Saddam's rise to power. This is absolutely false, he rose to power on his own through assasination, and mass murder of anyone who opposed him. We did give him weapons after he came to power, but we were hardly the only country that did that. People in the world blame the US for way too much.

Oh you mean the UN support after america has threatened and bullied. Safety of iraqi people?! region as a whole? Do you still think this war is about the liberation of iraqis and the elimination of WMD? You MUST be american...

how has america threatened and bullied? It's called politics. Look what France is doing. They're saying we won't let you into the EU if you don't agree with us. Is that bullying? Quote:

Saddam is a very real threat to all of iraq's neighbors, if you don't think that, you must be incredibly misinformed. Ask the Kuwaitis how they feel about iraq. It's real easy for you candians who are thousands of miles away from the situation to say "saddam is not a threat, that's ridiculous," but how would you feel if iraq was your neighbor? Quote:
You MUST be american...
damn straight, proud of it to.

Well i lived in the UAE for a year and visited oman on quite a few occasions. I cant imagine ANY middle east country wanting america to come "liberate" them from an evil dictator. People aren't as unhappy as the media makes them out to be, and while you've heard stories from iraqis, i've lived in a middle east country and have observed thier way of life. Honestly i think they should change, but that is not my descision nor americas to make......only thiers!

and if they don't have the ability to liberate themselves? should we just sit by?? the kurds certainly made the decision, and how are we to know how the iraqi's feel about saddam's rule if they are killed for speaking out?? are we to assume they like this??

the kurds asked the US for help in eliminating Saddam. They represent about a third of the iraqi people and are really the only iraqis that are somewhat free to speak out. Is that not enough proof that they want help?? Quote:

it's not ONLY about liberating iraq, but to say this is not one of the goals of the US is absurd. Just as absurd as saying the war is ONLY about oil.

No, I'm not upset, its just that you were spouting off your freedom like you were free to do anything you wish, I gave you some examples of things you are not free to do.
T hat is probably the dumbest thing i have ever seen you post.
Coming from you, I'm pleased you found my post to be dumb.....
Oh, and how come you didn't answer my question of why you aren't in the military right now.
