Please share some guidance

Hello, I am fairly new to mycology, I have been trying for years but recently invested in a good sterilizer and have been having great luck with healthy mycelium colonization.
I am using rye berries and pouring the colonized grain into smal tubs and casing
with coco coir.

Recently I got impatient / experimental and decided to “ birth “ the tubs ( I know this is unconventional )
I ask that someone with experience can give me some insight. Am I on the right path to healthy fruit? Is this looking ok? It looks like there are some colored spots on the mycelium that may not have been there when I first birthed them.
It’s been 6 days since I moved the colonized grain to the tubs and 1 day since I birthed them.

Was it handled roughly? Could be bruised myc? BTW, your cannabis plant needs some nitrogen, yellowing way to early for this point of flowering.

Looks like bruising from drying out or handling but probably drying out.  You should not have birthed them.  Leave them in the trays it takes 14-21 days (sometimes more) to get pins.  Give it time. 

Are those trays just sitting out in open air all the time?

It looks like you layered coir on colonized grain? I don't think you'll be able to keep RH right in that open air environment and it'll dry out. That's what a tub does.

Alright, yea I bet that inverting the mass onto the lid was pretty stressful for the mycelium, you guys recomend putting it back in the tub?

Shit, id say at this point just lay the tub over top, so long as you have holes. Handling uncolonized sub is not a good idea. Your colonized grain looks dry while your coir looks wet. Honestly man it seems that your impatience is the problem here. Slow down and give the thing love it is living you know. Read and ask questions before making impulsive moves or you'll be severely disappointed with your results

Thanks everyone, I’ve put them back into the tubs ( carefully ) and I’ll update the thread in time if I see pins or if it turns to a mass of mold.

Update us with pics once it's settled in and recovered from handling.. maybe a few days. You'll then want to focus of surface conditions to try and get a pinset out of this. Wouldnt be suprised if it sporadically and unevenly pins due to shock. This is gonna be a big learning curve in your cult experience but theres critical lessons to learn here my friend. After all, you did make it this far.

It’s been a few days and it seems like I have some healthy mycelium growth in the tubs, one is thriving. They look wet but I literally just misted. Still no pins that I can see it’s been 8 days since casing. I understand it can take around 2 weeks so I’m being patient.

See, the reasoning behind birthing the entire tubs was that when I looked at the mycelium inside the tub ( between the mass and the wall ) it looked like little pins.. I am probably wrong but here are some pictures of what I see in there. I would like to know what you think.
I am new to this so please pardon my ignorance

Nope its aerial myc reaching for better conditions (namely more oxygen). Your sub still looks way wet so that tells me you need to up your fresh air to the tub and stop misting so much. Pins form from knots first, you'll see dozens of little white balls. They turn into primordia and start to form the mushroom shape and gain color from there. If you continue how it is, you will have nothing but side pins when the time comes and it will be annoying to deal with. Let that coir dry out some from how it is in the pic so it can colonize

The tubs are in my greenhouse, it’s heated, it stays about 70, they are on a table away from other plants but there are a bunch of plants in there. Tomatoes cannabis blackberries...
I thought it would be a nice place for mushrooms because of the sunlight and humidity / temps..
It would sadden me to have to grow them indoors.
If I could grow cubensis outdoors I would, I’m sure there’s a way. I’m aware of azurescens- which I’ll probably try to get going this year in a hard wood bed..
just a big experiment I guess, mushrooms grow in my tomato soil all the time in there though I understand that they are likely an entirely different species.

It’s been 12 days since casing and I don’t see any signs of pins so maybe you guys are correct and they aren’t in a good environment. I’ll attach a pic of the super healthy looking tub.
I would love your thoughts / input

You can do it like you're doing you'll just have to care to it a lot more often so it doesn't dry out (without saturating it). Moist not wet. Allow the surface to dry then mist again. Open air is much more work but it can be done.
