Re: BRF Cake Grow Along (PF Tek) everyone welcome! [Re: BirdSeedUndaUrFeet]

Ooo I wanna play  when I receive a new print I always put it to agar but I also like to take part of it and make a spore syringe with distilled water. (I feel like spores store better when hydrated :justdontknow:) I use brf cakes to test my newly made spore syringes. That way if it works out (which I have not had one fail yet, knock on wood) I can fruit them and get more prints pretty fast  right now I have 3 AA+ and 3 PE6 ones just starting to show mycelium  hopefully I will be making up some more this weekend with rustywhyte and a few other prints I just got as well  I will try to post some pictures later.

Wauw, just look at the micro climate on and around the cake. Looks gorgeous!
I see pins all over that cake not just the cluster at the bottom. It will become more apparent in a day or two :super:

Just have to give you heads up on the one sector at the bottom (9 o'clock) trying to break away and leap onto the coir, explain to it that it's not suppose to leave the growing area

Lol thanks man.  Yeah they really blew up in last 24 hours...I see what you were saying!

Is too many pins in one area ever problematic?  As in competition for resources giving you a lot of small fruits and aborts?

When you have dense clusters of pins focused around a small area
then it's hard to imagine all of those pins maturing into big fruits.
But as long as they grow healthy the cake will fill out and the total 'weight' of the flush will be 'full'

Sometimes you'll get a few big fruits from a 'full flush' and sometimes you'll get many smaller fruits from a 'full flush'. Just focus on keeping good conditions alike you are and mushrooms will keep growing and adding weight to your flushes :goodluck:

27 cakes ready for fruiting this weekend, and 40 more are waiting to be made

Interesting how the APE cultures have grown much thicker than the LGT cultures. Looks like APE cakes have 2-3 times the mycelial mass that LGT cakes have. One clone is really thick and the other one really thin. And then these the AA+ which is in between those two in terms of myc density inside/outside the cakes.

(Says the image has been deleted by the user when I click on it but that's not true, idk what's going on)

Huh! Says that for me too:shrug:

Do you fruit APE cakes like normal, or are you fruiting in a shoebox?
