Y R my brf cakes taking soooo long to colinize

well first of all my first batch of 12 1/2pint w/ mm filterdisks jars was a toatal flop i fallowed the pf-tek and nothing grew they dried out. my second batch i used les vermiculte and attempeted the inner resavore tek, i forgot the extra verm in the middle of the ckakes, so they went hallow. 2 weeks later im finaly seeing gowth in a couple cakes. i started my third batch this weekend and got the inner resavore tek done right. i leave jars in the boxes they came in and through them in a rubbermade bin with a temp of 80 or so. i open the bin twice a day. what i fear is im losing moisture through the disks, think so? should i add a humidifing source in the r/m bin?
what other things may cause slow or no growth?

Yes, humidify that rubbermaid. It goes like this, if I put something wet on something warm it WILL dry out.
