You CAN actually.  But it's more involved.  Read online and check with the city.  There may be specific rules for you locality.

I did read something about it.  These cars might of been stolen in the first place.

If you are unable to recover abandoned vehicles.  Try the sheriff/police/govt auctions.  Once in a blue moon, there are still drugs in those vehicles/boats or whatever item it may be.

I've seen good people like yourself LC, get tempted by what looks like an 'easy' way to get something 'nice' for free. Folks who have never been criminally minded or active.

And guess what, most times life bites em real hard for it.

Seriously man, if it's questionable, it aint even worth thinking about. I could help you find a great car for less than $1000 if you want.

Look into a permit for abandoned vehicle recovery.  Probably must hold onto the vehicle for some time and post publicly that the vehicle has been recovered.

not sure what all the rules are, sure as shit there are rules.
