That's right they didn't, they did however say overdose, and I'm leaning towards benzos being easier to overdose than kratom.

I think I also remember reading somewhere that Kratom is the only opiate that doesn't depress respiration which would indicate that it's harder to die from overdose than traditional opiates.

I'm betting drug interaction due to not dosing smartly.

Benzo's and opiates have a long history of mixing badly!  So the combo is very bad.  Benzo's and any other cns depresent is a bad idea.

They will not publish toxin levels.  They just want to scare the people into 'kratom is death xxx bad voodoo"

People will believe anything, sadly.

Kratom mixes well with other herbs not pharmi's.  So kratom and cannabis should be plenty.  But then again we live in pharmicultical wonderland where those are more common than old school traditional herbal medicine.

I wonder sometimes, in addition to accurate drug level info, what the person’s lifestyle was like.  It isnt always a steady climb in drug dosage that leads to death.  Sometimes you can wear yourself out and have a little one take you.

I don’t know what the deal is with this person who died, but background info would be nice with these kinds of articles.

Sure and ODing on benzodiazepines is completely safe.

its pretty hard to OD from just benzos, i second interactions and improper dosings. could be some underlying health reason not disclosed as well.

I could be wrong, but don't benzos alone cause an OD?

Pretty stupid to "directly link" kratom to this death, seeing how benzos were clearly involved, as well.

Course, I'm an idiot, so I could be totally off base.

Yeah, this article is total garbage.

Kratom is basically harmless, even in high doses.

I finally got some kratom last week (I'm late to the party, I know) and took 6 grams of Red Thai Maeng Da kratom and immediately stopped feeling any need/want/desire to smoke heroin.

Kratom stops opioid addiction in it's tracks.

FDA/DEA is corrupt as fuck and doesn't like that.

It’s sad as shit because I’m mostly around ‘straight’ people that have no incling to look into plants etc so they think I’m “very passionate” about pointing out how fucked up people get dealt with for having leaves.. and what misery and sick ess those simple leaves can cancel out...  and nobody gives a fuck.  They actually believe the news without question when it comes to these things because it falls in line with what they’ve ...been told.. their entire lives.

You would think that they would have faith in my word at this point, some of them being family and all.  At least they care though, I would occasionally get a text from my pops “Salvia’s in the news again”, or “kratoms in the news again”...”vapes are in the news for blowing up again”..etc

Maybe I’m just hella dangerous and hardcore.

At least NY times gave a legitimate statement. I know if they banned its only a matter of time before Im down in the city looking for dope. I prefer using opiates and kratom is so more affordable and safer. Alcohol is like huffing ether to me. the effects are garbage
