Re: Humans of the Alt-Left: A Compendium [Re: XUL]

Because some aspects of militant antifascism are illegal under current law, and people aren't so stupid as to willingly self-incriminate.

Do you think that legality is a good compass for morality? In other words, does something being illegal necessarily make it wrong to do.

Violence is not good. I can say that. You can't.

He asked you a direct question about violence and you couldn't answer it.

If there is something wrong worth a law, then you change it through lobbying, voting, or running for an office.

Maybe it's clear to you but it's not so clear to me.  So let me rephrase my question: what do you mean by "physically overpowering" someone?

Another brand new account come here to equate militant antifascism with 'using violence against people you disagree with'.

You realize that "militant antifascism" is essentially just a euphemism to mean that one will resort to violence to squash fascists, right?

Yes, I'm well aware of what militant antifascism refers to and apparently you do to, so why don't you drop the facade of "can you be more clear please".

I won't say it because it's wrong. Some violence is good. There is nuance to the question, and if you would stop for a minute and consider what your support for the US military equates to (a support of violence as a force for good) than you will realize that you agree with me regarding violence.

Our only disagreement is over what kind of violence is good or bad.

How do you know whether I am aware of militant antifascism not?  You can read my mind?

Secondly, it does not matter whether I know what "militant antifascism" is.  The important thing is that it is a mere euphemism used to hide the violence behind it, and I noticed your utter inability to counter this.

How does it feel to realize that your side supports violence?

Its OK if you are unable to defend what you meant by "physically overpower".  If I endorsed violence like you did, I would not like it when people called me on it, either.

I want to prove that Shivas endorses the use of violence against people he disagrees with (namely, fascists).

Everyone on this board is already fully aware of that.

I can't read minds, but I can definitely read posts:

At this moment, you are just a concern troll in my opinion and I am rating you zero shrooms to reflect that. Prove me wrong.

I don't care whether you think I am a troll. Your opinion of me, heck, your opinions period, means nothing to me.  However, you can't refute my argument that "militant antifascism" is a just a euphemism that says violence against fascists is Ok.

What is your definition of "militant antifascism", anyway?  I am sure that if you really ask yourself this question and try your best to analyze the answer you give, you will find that there really is not a whole a lot of differences between these two.

Also, you might not believe it, but this is the first time I have heard of "militant antifascism".  Don't get me wrong, I knew that antifas were violent, but I did not know that "militant antifascism" was even a thing.  I only became aware of it after you mentioned it.

lol.

you should read some of the threads around here and then come back to this.
the old "antifascists are the same as fascists" argument is not a new one.  This is why anyone is loathe to argue it with you.  Its been argued ad nauseum already.  You'll simply have to do better than that.

I see where the confusion was.  When I said, "there is not a whole lot of differences between these two", I meant that there is no difference between militant antifascism and using outright violence against fascists.  I did not mean that there is no difference between antifascists and fascists.

Too easy. Like shooting fish in a barrel, or as they say at stormfront “like shooting a Jew in a synagogue.”

oh, then i don't think there is any dispute.  Militant antifascism is using outright violence against fascists, as far as i understand it.
  Did you have another point?

I can see that you don't find anything wrong with using violence to squash one's political opponents.  Thanks for clarifying your position.

There is no need to talk like a jerk, insinuating that I am confused and all that garbage.  Is it really that difficult for you to act like a civilised human being?
