Can you do 100 days of not doing what you are addicted to?

100 days are a gamechanger in addiction cessation outlook.

Even if its heroin, in 100 days most people in most cases will have developed a relatively stable coping strategy. Most physical withdrawal will be over or even long gone for most drugs. At day 100, the screaming anguish of craving for many will be an annoying or nuisance whisper.

Not for all, but for most.

Most won't make it to day 100

Those who do, many of them have reached a longterm stability that will keep them for a long time, maybe forever, at day 100.

Can you do 100 days?

Focus on that.

Can I do 100 days?

Thats what matters.

Thats a lot les daunting for most than the prospect of forever, but many who can will have developed a stability, a routine, that will enable them to make it forever.

How common is addiction among Shroomery posters? It seems like there are quite a few of them here, but certainly it can not be a majority... right?

It may a bit easier to achieve if you just do it
one day at a time.

That's what I've done (with alcohol), 1768 times and
I'm going to do it again today too. :bliss:

If you feel it does, yes. You're in competition with yourself, not others. But if you switched smoking to vaping for 100 days straight, chances are you have mostly unlearned smoking and have come to rely on the vape (far less harmful)

I would argue myself. The only drugs I really take routinely are those to upkeep on my health in regards to specific conditions I have and, even then, I take every opportunity not to take them. Also Mormons. Devout Mormons do not do drugs (even caffeine).

Coffee is the closest thing to an addiction for me but I take it about as rarely as I take low dose adderall for ADHD. Maybe 3 times a week max and skipping it whenever I can.

I am talking about real addiction, though, with withdrawal and everything.

Edit: I take it all back. The internet is a huge addiction for me and clearly I have some cognitive dissonance about it. Fuck... :waitwut:

quiting the booze is hard im on day 3. I decided it makes me impatient and I dont think its good for parenting for me like ganja is. Plus it was effecting my posting and making me be grumpy on here

You can do it buddy!

I found eating fresh fruit helped with quitting alcohol a bit.  I mean, obviously it's going to suck, but it helped the bit I needed.

I'm going to have to take a hard pass. Actually my boss just told me not to come in today. Think ima get smashed.

I'm not mentally stable enough to quit drugs for an extended period of time. I do shitty things when I'm drunk sometimes sure. But I'd rather die than live in existential dread and I've been to that point enough.

I can curb my drug use sure, not sure why I would want to though. Maybe I'll quit smoking cigs with you guys? But they're so robust and flavorful and I want one now! :sad:

I quit cannabis products for 6 months earlier this year.

Then made some special chocolate three weeks ago that was supposed to be for the one week holiday only. Needless to say I got stoned for 14 days in a row.

Been sober since monday morning and planning to keep it that way till at least Christmas. Its been a lot worse in the past but I dont think cannabis and I will ever be in a healthy relationship :shrug:
