Someone is always pushing an agenda and the lot of you would rather discuss who your next set of masters will be without paying any mind to the power that you now possess yet are willingly handing over in greater and greater quantities.

I say these things because I want to see a future where adults take responsibility for themselves and their community. Until you are ready to do something substantial in your life, enjoy the spectacle of shopping for your next plantation.

Parroting this statement undermines your own credibility as a free agent. Those who turn to other's institutions to provide them with their livelihoods in the long-term are often the same type of people who turn to politicians to govern them because they can not hack it themselves. It is, quite literally, selling a good portion of your life, potential and ultimately soul at a fraction of its worth for comfort and a vague sense of security.

Do you REALLY think this system will change SIGNIFICANTLY without burning the whole thing down and starting again?

If you 'want to see a future where adults take responsibility for themselves and their community'n - try this - start being a responsible adult and respecting this community.

Unlike yourself Zaid, I took responsibility and moved out of my parents house a long time ago. I support myself wholly and fully and have a lot of spare income to boot because I've worked my ass off for the last twenty years.

I will be exiting the system, as far as is realistically possible in this world, to become a 'free agent' and go and run a farm in Australia sometime in the next year or so.

At least I've done it though. I've climbed the ranks in the corporate world, and I've seen the beast from the inside, so I can actually talk of it with some authority rather than you assumptive ramblings based on your ridiculous ideals gathered from your complete lack of real life experience.

It's gonna smack you down so hard someday.

Truly enlightening. :lol: Read Siege by James Mason sometime. His points are valid even though his ultimate conclusion will be deemed unsavory by your type. I bet the house you will not even bother attempting to grasp any of it after a quick Google search of his name. Let that be a testament to your position as a free agent with an open mind.

I show respect to this community by sharing my opinions. I do not, however, respect the mindset of this community as it stands right now. To do nothing and let the self-righteous hive mind here fester in itself would be to turn my back on it.

That's a very odd idea of 'free agency'.

You should also pay attention to how you have no real clue about my life or the things that I have done in it. Speak to realities that you know rather than your feelings and you may come up with a solid argument. I often find that the people who are most defensive of their life choices are the very same that truly regret them.

I never claimed to have a satisfactory answer. I am merely stating that voting and participation in the current system is contributing to the problem at hand.

Though, to shed some light for you, I think Charles Manson and James Mason have some very good insights on successfully breaking away from the current system. Reading their works (like Siege) will give you a far better understanding than I could ever explain here. Although it should be taken more from an 'Amish-like' perspective rather than focusing on racial genocides and outright hatred as those two nazis so often loved to do.

b) ...feel powerless to the system already in place.
c) all of the above.

The solution to both of those lies within yourself as it lies within each of us. It will take a collective change of heart and consciousness and that can only happen by starting with yourself. The self is the base unit of the collective.
