So you're that kind of special and wonderful human that enjoys shitting on everyone else's plans/dreams/hopes/ideals, when in actuality, you have none of your own? And then, when questioned, says 'read this book I read that I think is REALLY cool, and if you don't read it, well then you're just closed minded'.

I know you think you're special, but I've seen your kind so many times before. You give nothing, but take take take what you can to unload the burden of your own miserable existence onto those around you.

You're not long for this community if you carry on like this Zaid, you have my word.

Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I did very similar myself. 'It's all so bloody obvious, why can the rest of these people not see it as clearly as I see it?!??!'

Zaid thinks he's special. What an adorable little boo boo he is.

Anyway, you have contradicted yourself, relic.

I have 'plans/dreams/hopes/ideals' as much as anyone else, but I do not have the ego to believe that any of it is worth a damn outside of myself unless they are fully realized which can never be communicated (let alone understood) on an internet forum. Realities speak on their own.

I offered insights into what they might be and you fully reject it by claiming that it ultimately alludes to nothing and that I am attempting to deface you by asking you to read a book. Coming from your perspective, I can see all too well how you would ultimately loathe even the idea of picking up such a work so I had to frame the task as a challenge so that you might open yourself out of spite.

Sharing any insights as to my end-goal will ultimately mean nothing to you, as I'm sure we are all aware, and will merely serve as tinder for your consistent self-reinforcement rather than getting anywhere of value. The reality of the matter is that it has nothing to do with what I do with my life and everything to do with the giving-up of oneself so typical of people with your stance.

I am well aware of the type of people who are placed into positions of power in this community and that free-speech has no place among your type. You will do what you feel you must to protect what you see as holy and righteous and pay no mind to any other perspective. Perhaps that is why so many Americans do not get along with you.

-----

Edit:
By the way, your insistent non-stop boomer/gen-x rhetoric also serves to undermine your point. It is statements like that which have left those generations a laughing stock to younger ones when there might be real insights to be shared among generations. You should have left the name calling on the playground if you wish to be seen as a big boy.

Ohhhhh...well anyways back to your idea that voting does nothing . Which I know what your trying to say. But what about the fact my state voted for cannabis reform only medical( I'll take it), and raising minimum wage.

Actually it would mean a lot to me. It would prove that you're not just here to troll.

I'm going to ask you again Zaid;

Tell me about how you plan to live as a free agent amongst the system.

everything else aside, you DO realize that every generation both laughs at the one before it and casts aspersions on the ones that follow, yeah?

Cannabis reform only serves to prove that there is a problem with the system's stance on certain vegetation to begin with. Anyone unsubscribed to the powers that be should see that it is a non-solution to a non-issue.

Same thing for raising the minimum wage. The system has been irresponsible with the economy (never mind that the economy itself serves only to exploit to the point where we feel the need for legislation to control it), leading to inflation which ultimately leads to people needing a higher minimum wage. It is a short-term bandage on a long-term systematic issue.

By the very definition of trolling, I have never trolled these forums. I'm going to challenge you again Jokeshop; find me an example in which I have by definition and not by your own arbitrary whims of whatever 'trolling' might entail to you. Sharing opinions is not trolling.

Like you have graciously stated before, no one owes any one anything here. Appealing to your request of inquiring about my plans serves no purpose when...

Before we can come to any sort of meaningful answer we mush first make sure that the question is posed accurately, which I believe you are entirely missing. It is not about what I do with my own individual life but what we do collectively, starting individually, as humanity reaching for a brighter future for all of us.

Because I don't enjoy watching television. I watch a couple of movies a year and fall asleep with cartoon sounds playing.

I read lots of books though.

Like I've stated before it's going to have to come with a collective change of hearts and minds. When that happens, voting will fall away along with a host of other illusions we have desperately invested our faith into. Voting or not voting is merely symbolic.

I never claimed to have a satisfactory answer. I am merely stating that voting and participation in the current system is contributing to the problem at hand.

Though, to shed some light for you, I think Charles Manson and James Mason have some very good insights on successfully breaking away from the current system. Reading their works (like Siege) will give you a far better understanding than I could ever explain here. Although it should be taken more from an 'Amish-like' perspective rather than focusing on racial genocides and outright hatred as those two nazis so often loved to do.

It's contributing is it? It's survival. The stakes matter so you eat. Acting like you're above eating doesn't solve the problem. You just eat, or you farm and feed others. This is how you exit society, in it's eyes you die. Or you just die. Voting does matter and it's the same reason we lock our doors at night. People love to talk bad about republic politcal systems but yet the other options aren't good enough and they can't come up with a better solution than "YOLO, fuck y'all." People smarter than us have spent too much time trying to solve this problem for a bunch of dummies to come along and say the lack of a solution is everyone else's fault.

You have entirely missed my point and I believe we are actually in a agreement about certain aspects. Faith in "people smarter than us" is, I believe, another folly which results in relinquishing your own God-given power. If they do exist than it is only reasonable to assume that more "people smarter than us" are working equally as hard to fuck up the situation for their own gain as those that which to 'un-fuck' the situation. As above, so below.

Since you wish to go by the exact definition of trolling, I will post from Wikipedia, which is probably the most objective definition available to us. Then I'm going to post a poll asking the community if you're trolling as per 'the very definition'.

Quote:
In Internet slang, a troll (/troʊl, trɒl/) is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses[2] and normalizing tangential discussion,[3] whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.
