    #25564274 -

Ive been doing one meal a day since the 15th and have already loss a couple pounds, thinking of starting keto

its a bit of work because I currently just eat with the family, but Id have to do my own cooking if I started keto

whats everyone think of keto?

And he don't sit around all angry and bored

I think it's a metabolic state your body enters and not just a fad diet like everyone else seems to think it is. You pretty much have to enter ketosis to be able to lose weight at least from my experience.

It's a diet that puts you into ketosis to lose weight. Doctors use it for obese people for a short time to lose weight. I don't know if you should do it long term.

Keto can be amazing if done right (balanced meals, and regular ketone level testing). I tried it for a while but it gave me heart palpitations. I guess it’s different for everybody. Also, you can get ketone strips at cvs.

you don't have to be in ketosis to lose weight

ketosis is just a physiological state where hunger is supposedly suppressed despite being in a calorie deficit. i've never stayed off of carbs long enough to experience it, but I lost like 80lbs anyway

Ketosis is the state where your body releases ketones to burn fat to make up from the lack of carbs. It takes about 2 days carb free to enter it and it feels nice. I try not to eat carbs anymore but I’m not in ketosis

I fucking LOVE ketosis. I do a four day water-only fast once a year to put me in there real hard.

Amazing clarity of mind, lack of hunger, weight loss, etc. It's kinda like tripping for me.

It comes on at about 70 hour mark for men. I believe, to sustain it long term, one must consume <20g carbs a day.

Are you sure that's not just your subjective experience of the situation and not reality? Whenever I get into heavy ketosis I think I'm having the most rational and well thought-out ideas ever but if I try to communicate them with anyone they swear I'm manic.

I've heard of others mention it too, so it borders on objective IMO.

But, after all, all my experiences that I share here are subjective, for that is all I have.

Besides, I think you're manic anyway, so I'm not surprised that others do, ketosis or no.

According to 2 online tests, I'm mildly to moderately manic. What kinds of behaviors on here from me do you notice that make you say that, though?

I also assumed you were manic. But actually most of our members are in some form. It kind of co-encides with psychedelics.

You're not very considerate of other peoples feelings, and you're often trying to push your agenda on others.

I've been very close with people IRL that have manic episodes, and those things often go hand in hand with them.

Are you just too considerate of peoples feelings jsb? Is that a thing? Is catering to ones emotions an imposition in itself?

While that's definitely true online, I don't see that translating at all to my real life. Semi-Anonymity makes me sometimes forget there's another person on the other end of the tubes which makes my language and idea choices much more... 'liberal'. Also I feel like if I'm not sharing my opinions, what am I contributing, really? I do understand it comes off way too strong, though. (Ohio Issue 1 thread.)

In real life I tend to be more quiet than anything.

I'm extremely considerate of peoples feelings when they come in peace and are humble.

Even arrogant and obnoxious people to an extent, although I'll speak my mind very frankly about what I observe (a la Bill O in his thread) in those cases.

I think one can be TOO considerate of others. I believe I have seen it in others, a few women I have known very well spring instantly to mind.

When it becomes detrimental to oneself I would say it crosses the line.

After all, one has to love oneself first and foremost.

Well obviously I cannot speak on how you are IRL, for I know you not. You asked me for my observations here and I supplied them.

Does not the fact that you have been rated 2/5 make you think about changing your conduct here though? I've certainly tried to better my own to fit in with the space here over the years. I've was quite the misfit here in my earlier days.

How about just contributing kindness, and love for ones community/tribe, and gratitude?

One can still have opinions and do just that.

Ratings mean absolutely nothing to me. I don't come to the internet looking for friends anymore. I've lived that life.

I've never felt that anything I've posted here was truly mean spirited. Misunderstood and in poor taste, perhaps, but never outwardly malicious. Perhaps I'm too ingrained with 4chan-level banter for the likes of this community. My default response mode is that of a jaded, sarcastic Gen X teenager. Spreading love and positivity for their own sake comes off a bit (for lack of a better term) gay to me. (Not in the homosexual context.)

Well, it sounds like your mind is made up then.

BTW, I don't spread love for it's own sake. I do it because I believe it's the right thing to do.

I think I understand how you feel. Positivity burns me out as well. And I’ve never been shy about being dark around here. You need rapport before you can speak such things though. Not saying it’s right, not saying I have it, I’m just saying how it is.  People need to know you’re not a piece of shit before you act like one. You have as many bad rating as I, 2. You just haven’t been active enough to fit in. Just my thought.
