I count five excluding Lophosaurus' since clearly he misunderstands me. I definitely get what you mean, Klick, and I hope some day I can fit in. But another part of me is saying to leave The Pub and never look back.

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I've been on ketogenic diet on and off for a couple years now.
It works great if you stick to it..

but i cant sustain it for more than a year..
..then I fall off hard and gain it all back.
Indulging in everything I depraved myself of.

I keep telling myself Im going to get back on keto again soon.

I'm not convinced, the scientific evidence supporting it seems slim

I only tried it for 3 days, but I didnt see any of the energy or mental clearness all the ketoers talk about

steak and green beans the first day and ground pork, pepperoni, broccoli, and a little bit of cream cheese the second two days

I counted carbs and was definitely under 20

Yeah I never got to it (the clarity) when I tried just cutting out carbs. Only when doing water only fasts.

Human body is Ade to use carbs.
Was on the keto thing, but think its a fad.
Eat healthy,eat more plants.
Joe Roan mentioned some big fighting coach who as all about meat and nus for fat, who died in he fifties.

I take the idea fat, especially saturated, is optimal skeptically, as it seems to have detrimental effects on LDL

Too much carbs and I can't get full. Probably just used to eating half jar of pb a day

did any of you catch this episode of JRE?

it was such an awesome discussion!  new or not to keo i highly recommend!

my personal experience with keto,

i have epilepsy, and i am able to control it somewhat by keeping my body in ketosis.  it works because (from what we understand) it alters the genes involved in energy metabolism in the brain.

i have super lucidity brain power, carbs make my brain retarded.

i've been keto for 13 years, and i am an athlete.  some days are 4-5 hours training/day.  i have found that a beta-hydroxybutyric acid supplement, (exogenous ketones) taken 15 minutes before workout, allows my heart rate not to be sluggish if i am training in a fasted state.

it's not that the beta-hydroxybutyric acid elevates my heart rate, it's that my body now has the resources to be physiologically primed to accomplish the work that i would like it to!  i've never heard anyone else talk about this, just my experience.

this is the one i take:
