longest i've gone without eating was 3 days on adderall. definately makes it easier haha. i seem to lose about ten pounds every time i get a good hook up for it...maybe i'll give real fasting a shot though.

As others have said, fasting is useless if your goal is to sculpt your physique.
That being said, the only times I ever fasted on purpose were for spiritual reasons. I once fasted for a little over 4 days. And it was a complete fast, no food and no water. Hunger pains subside after a couple days, but dehydration was a bitch by the end of day 4. But when fasting for spiritual reasons I always thought it best to not let anything at all pass my lips. You become much more humble much faster that way.
I've also gone several days without eating on many occasions due to illness. I tend not to want to eat if I have the flu. But I try to drink lots of water at those times.

a "shitload" will bulk you up, yes, mostly in fat however.
having +100kcal a day above maintenance average (which changes from week to week if you workout hard enuf)
is sufficient in adding lean bodymass while keeping fat to a minimum.

there are just three forms of nutrients,
proteins - fats and carbohydrates which all are carrierst of energy.
if i remember right, proteine and carbohydrated at 4kilokalories per gram and fat at around 7kilocalories per gram.
