Meh, didn't use A SAB. I mean I really dusted and cleaned everything in my room and what not.

Meh.. I guess I'll find out. Worse case I have plenty of glasses and all the supplies. Trail and error I guess. And yeah.. They are cracks. I had them boiling too hard. They were elevated on rings as well as tin foil. Meh.. I should know in a few days if they're fucked up, yeah?

I recommend putting a rag in the PC to alleviate these issues in the future.

Flow hood? Open air is a no no... and a fast track ticket to failure... take the time to cut 2 6" holes in the side of a large clear tub and save yourself time, money, and resources... the glass might have been alright this time, but won't last another cycle... and are likely fucked with open air inoculation and alcohol wiped syringe

Yeah man, I should've just done the flame. I've read threads where people were saying alcohol was fine.. I had a lighter right there too. Fuck.. oh well man.

I guess I'll just hope for the best I guess. I'll start prepping more jars this weekend just in case lol. So pretty much if i see like green something.. dump it? I'm just going to empty them and throw away the jars. I have plenty of jars.

Thays IF they're contaminated. 4 or 5 days is usually first signs of germination, correct? #StillNoobProcess

Yeah, I'll wait it out. Takes even a month + sometimes to even show signs of bacteria?

Bacteria can be hard to spot outside of its interaction with mycelial growth... could look snotty, but may not IME

Bacteria usually smells pretty bad. I've had jars smell through the tyvex.

It can also smell fruity and sweet...depends on the bacteria.

Haha well see,this is my first grow. I mean I have seen pictures and what not.. but it's not the same as doing it yourself and seeing it in person. I will learn as I go and you all seem very helpful, do I'm sure you guys will help me along the way with this process!


Another question. I'm getting ready to prep more jars today. Anyway, after steaming them... how long should I wait for inaculation? I've got the spores.. so I could literally shoot them up whenever they're done sanitizing. Just need to know if the heat would kill those spores or not.

As long as it's not hot. Warm is ok. Don't make the mistake thinking the liquid in the spore syringe - or whatever - will cool the substrate. It won't.

I normally inoculate only the following day. On the same day, I usually inoculate like 3-4 hours after PCing, but that's usually because I'm busy with other things.

Quart jars will need more than an hour IMO...
