Making Agar is really simple, as I will demonstrate in this post.


For every 100ml water I use 2g Agar Agar, and 2g of nutrients.
In this Tek I'm making 300ml DFA and 300ml MEA.


Let's make DFA:
I measure out 6g of Agar Agar and 6g of dog food that I grind to powder.

Stir everything down into 300ml of boiling water and keep stirring until there are no more clumps.


When the mix is finished I pour into these handsome bottles and wrap with alu-foil on top. No caps.

I PC some scalpels and water with this as well that I will be using later for cake inoculate.

20 min at 15 PSI or higher.


As soon as PC is ready to be opened I take the bottles directly from the PC into the SAB.

Bottles rest in a water bath inside qt jars. A meat thermometer reads water temps. At 45-46C I go to work.
