Could it maybe a reference to Burning Man or maybe "land yatchts" on salt lakes?

I have a "SEAL LIFE" shirt and also gifted two ov the same for those around me.

I'm not into bumper stickers for many ov the reasons previously stated.  I do'nt have any stickers on my jags ov course, but there remains a stupid doggy paw print and well worn college sticker on my work car from the previous owner that i have'nt bothered to strip.

Salt Life originated in Florida, same with that trash 'surf shop'. Coincidence?

I have never heard of salt life connected to Hawaiian watermen and my nephew is named Keaulana. And links you can connect me to?

It was started up in Jacksonville while I was in high school.
I'd been seeing those stickers on every boat or vehicle or someone who participated in watersports since about that time.

As for the Hawaiian link to it. Well, this might be more of a fisherman's story, so to speak.
But I grew up surfing with a Hawaiian kid named Keahi Kam.
We rode for the same surf shop together until he progressed way beyond me, and started traveling to other countries to compete gaining actual sponsors (Hurley, Channel Islands, and Oakley).

Shortly after that, had to be around the year 2001-2002, his father Roray Kam. A true and respected waterman in Hawaii, brought over paddleboarding from Hawaii to the US for the first time. Initially to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea where he resided.

He ended up teaching a lot of my friends and I how to paddleboard, and he would always refer to what we did, our lifestyle of surfing, paddleboarding, skimboarding, fishing, etc as "salt life." Obviously some years before the stickers or the company ever became a thing. It was his motto, and he explained to us that it was a relatively modern common saying among the surfers in Hawaii.

How much truth there is to that, I frankly don't know. But it's a cool story and I believe the guy.

I assumed it was more of a fishing thing. Like Guy Harvey shirt wearing types. Not that I haven't had a couple. Being from South Florida redneck lineage it's kinda mandatory.
The long white shirt, visor, sunglasses with a strap and the racoon eyes from the always sunburned face. Not sure how they got so popular up north. Probably chartered a boat or went snorkeling once or twice.

Right on. I never heard it when I was spending a lot of time in the islands but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I had a few friends that went on to bigger things in surfing, but the international athletes were all volleyball.

If you guys hate the 13.3 and 26.6 stickers, don't come to Colorado. JMFC those things are everywhere.

Have been a colorado resident for some years now and have yet to see a sticker with either of those numbers.
Is it a Front Range deal? I live nestled in the mountains of very southwestern CO (I can see UT, NM, and AZ's mountains from my house).

And what the hell does it stand for? As well as JMFC?

Referring to Bible verses by any chance?

13.1 is a half marathon. 26.2 is a full one.

That's what I get for doing cut/paste and being too lazy to type it out.

Probably more of a function of my living so close to Boulder, where everyone and their mother thinks they're a world class runner. I haven't visited your corner of the state yet, but I can imagine it's quite beautiful in the temperate months.

JMFC stands for Jesus Mother Fucking Christ. So... yeah, kind of a Bible verse.

Ah, thank you for the knowledge.

Marathon running is not a thing here.
Our roads are mostly steep 2 lane mountain "skyways". Cortez is the only kind of flat place around here where 5k's and 10k's are held.
We do get an insurgence of road cyclists in the Spring through early Fall, however.

I've driven through every county on and West of the Front Range. This little corner is a different world. Where I live since I'm up high, is very similar to the Aspen and Vail area. Even comparable to where Tinytown is just west of Denver on 285. but so much smaller.
What I love about it, is even in the dead of Winter, I can head 30 or so miles down-valley (or West into Moab) and be in the true desert at 55 degrees. The route going West to Vegas that runs back and forth through the AZ/UT border is one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken.

I had the option of living anywhere when I moved out West. This place is home. I literally shed tears the first time I drove into these mountains. My mountains.

Sounds like we're going to have to make a road trip.

Glad you found your patch.

So, no Salt Life stickers then?

Not one, and there are so many Jeeps here. I had one until 8 months ago as well.
There's a lot of stickers that say "Keep your California out of my Colorado" in the ski towns.

Do you board or ski, by any chance?
