my guerilla sticker campaign
    #7500871 - 10/09/07 09:09 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

When I was a teen like 10 years ago, one of my favorite things to do was graffito-tag the neighborhood. I really miss the feeling of exhilaration it would give me, plus the thought of knowing that thousands of people would see my message on their way to work. Spray-painting a phrase in a highly visible public place is a great way to get people thinking. It just sticks in their brains.

Since I would rather avoid embarrassing criminal mischief and vandalism charges in my adult life, I can't do this anymore. Also, I was never all that great at tagging. I never had access to the special tips for spray cans and all that stuff. The most advanced I ever got was using a stencil.

But the idea I have now is to put up stickers in places where people are likely to see them. Some of my ideas for good places are ATM machines, drive-thrus, etc... basically places where people are likely to focus their attention at a time when they are bored waiting for something to happen.

Its so easy to print up high-quality stickers on a decent color printer (which I have access to). So here's some of the ideas I have for stickers. I made some of these myself and got others off the internet. Some of these images I even got off the Shroomery, because it seems every one here knows how to Photoshop and you guys come up with some cool stuff! I think if the shape of the image is more or less square, I can cram 9 different stickers on an 8x11 page.

here's what I have so far:

Anyone else got some cool images I can make into stickers for my campaign? Also suggestions on where to put the stickers would be appreciated.

its just a matter of getting good sticker paper, you know, the kind that peels off and has a sticky side.

try to avoid label paper, and non-glossy, because those stickers tend to fade really quickly. you have to get high quality glossy.
