How does this look?
    #25541986 -

This plate has been growing for about 10 days. It is my 10th or so transfer trying to get a clean plate to put to grains. I believe the rings are from temperature swings in my apartment. I see the fuzzy amorphous growth apart from the pretty stable and solid looking stuff. I will probably take another transfer from the more solid growth if I need to.

10 transfera holy shit man.

You need some better eyes than mine om here I believe.

Someone like Bod or another TC or someone like Mushboy might be able to tell you.

It looks clean to me, my only worry would be after 10 transfers is it for sure myc?

I'm not experienced enough to say.

I know myc usually seems to have the rhizo growth to it.

I'll see if I can't find some pictures of verified myc that look similar.

Maybe some fresh eyes can weigh in

That looks great.  10 transfers is about 8 or 9 more than this grower does.  Holy shit, you've got patience, man.

This is my first time doing agar so I've been using this as practice. Earlier plates had great rhizo but had satellite bacterial colonies. I just wanna be sure I have clean spawn. I need better eyes too haha here is a picture of the plate from the top after I transferred it again.

Here is a picture of the transfer right now.

This is almost 2 days old.

If I was confident it was myc from my mushrooms I would be using that plate

The only doubt I have is that it's not as bright white as I've seen. There are light grey areas that make me think mold. I've lost a bunch of jars and a whole syringe to mold so I'm paranoid.

This plate is almost done but there are 2 spots that worry me. I did this transfer from the same plate as the one I initially posted.

If it's mold the whole damn plate is mold and that would mean you've just been transferring mold the whole time.

That would be my worry too after 10 transfers if there was a mistake and clean my wasn't transferred.

Try pming bod with a link to the thread, I think if you go to message him it has some info on what he considers acceptable messages and says you can ask him to answer a thread I believe.

I don't think he would be mad at you

I will try and contact tiger as well. Like you said, fresh eyes would help. Especially if they are good eyes haha

In the meantime I'm just gonna transfer that plate I posted to a couple jars and see how they look. That way I can know for sure. Now that I'm semi comfortable with agar I'm gonna get another couple syringes. I've been doing these plates originally off a print I made.

I honestly think the whole plate is mold, but if it isn't its good to go. I don't like the rings or how whispy/light the colonization is. The speed of growth matches cube mycelium tho.

The rings were from me not setting my heater up in my apartment right and the temperature fluctuated for a few days. I think. But either way I'm going to play it safe and order more syringes and clean those through agar.

If it is mold then it came from the prints I used I believe. I had some plates look really good but then they got contamed. But I just wanted more experienced eyes to tell me. Thank you Bod and thank you Enkidu.

I definitely thought the growth rings were temperature fluctuations, too. But my initial thought was you're transferring mold, too. Can you take a picture without all the light? Put the plate on a table and take a closer pic without flash?

I don't have the plate anymore but I do have another plate that came from the same plate the previous one did. Did you see the post transfer picture I took of the plate from the top?

Let me know if you need to see it differently. Those are air bubbles by the way. Except the two white lumps at the 4:30 to 5 o'clock position of the center white mass. I am not sure what those are.

I am always worried about mold now so I need to see what it looks like and have TCs tell me that's mold so my mind knows exactly what to look for. I grew 7 pristine quarts of moldy rye while thinking I was doing a good job so my eyes need more training. I have yet to see it on agar until possibly now so for science stuff and my own edification I will spawn this plate.

For sure now I am going to pick up fresh syringes. Thank you all for your advice.
