Making gunpowder from piss- the only other thing you need is charcoal, sulfur. HOW?

The charcoal is easy, and the sulfur is decently easy. The hardest part is the saltpeter.


The saltpeter aka as potasium nitrate can be made by letting urine, compost and some carbon based material compost, stew, and then, be strained out and the pure liquid dried into a powder and harvested.

During some historical battles urine was prized, because it was the only non mine-able ingredient needed to produce gunpowder.


The question is, how was this discovered. ?

did someone from China throw an old piss/shit pot, into a fire pit that contained charcoal and the rocks that were lining the pit or something else contained sulfur and it went BOOM!@!!!!@#@#%^


And the rest is history. Just like Soap, I guarantee you gunpowder was invented by "accident" guaranteed. 100%

If you want to know how "soap " was invented, it wasn't. Just like gunpowder it was an accident.

Soap is sort of similar in the chemical process using LYE ( wood ash) to convert chemicals

Na and K nitrates are naturally occurring compounds. Usually dry areas where water soluble salts can be concentrated by evaporation. I’m sure the property that nitrate salts can support combustion of flamable materials was known long before gunpowder was invented. I seriously doubt gunpowder was discovered by accident. Most likely it was perfected over time using different substances until just the right mix was found.

I had an ant colony in jail.  If you feed them sugar then carbs in right order they run really fast.  The order eludes me still!

Urine contains Urea
Urea decomposes to ammonia
soil bacteria oxidize ammonia to nitric acid
nitric acid + potash = Saltpeter
saltpeter: very sol in hot, not very sol in cold water
recrystallize to purify over 99%
-Pyrotechnics grade saltpeter


Saltpeter occurs naturally on the moist walls of cellars, it got scraped off, purified and used for war efforts. That was a job. It was then discovered that it was more abundant in dung heaps and cemeteries, and common sense created the saltpeter farm.

Ok, but all other subjects aside, lets talk soap.


I make my own soap. I use all sorts of oils, but the fact remains you have to use a superfat lye calculator, and use safety equipment.


It's about $15 for a pound of lye.
And.
If you want cheap soap,
$5 for corn oil
and $10 for pure vegetable oil .


WIth less than $20, I can make safe, effective soap for about the average use of $200
