Don't worry. Most people against a pluralist society won't wander anywhere close to a college campus.

Well that's strange, the "students" find the current campus environment lacks diversity engagement, how can that be?

Because social progress doesnt happen for its own sake.

Oh, taking a mandatory class indoctrinating young people that their race is "privileged" and they need to start "socializing" with minorities is "social progress".

You can't force people to socialize with people they don't want to in the first place.

The classes are not about "social progress", it's about intimidation and control of young students and their mindsets, it's disgusting.

Hear hear!

I feel really bad for these people who have chosen a school and pay for the product and then don't like what they got themselves into. Maybe there's a way capitalism can solve the problem?

In the future, it's good to look towards Jonathan Haidt's work that illuminates which schools seek truth and which schools seek social justice training.

@qman

What do you think the civil rights act did? What integration did? Cigarette warning labels? Sometimes you have to create laws to force a cultural change. Sometimes you have to fight wars. If you're in college you should at least be aware of the glaring inequalities of our society.

Dont feed me this "1984 style thought police" bullshit when yall are cheering on Kavanaugh, the guy poised to overturn Roe V Wade (a decision favored by the vast majority of Americans).

Those classes don't deal with the inequalities in our culture, it starts with the premise that there's some wrong with "white culture" and there's some inherent racism in all white people.  It's inaccurate information and that's harmful.

It's called having an agenda and we will know where this comes from, that's why we're going to end up with leaders that make Trump seem like a cupcake.

It's such a piss poor critique on liberal arts schools that it's only believed by people who flunked out or by snowflakes that got butt hurt the first time somebody told them mycelium is older than Jesus.

Yep, that's it.  Those mandated classes are a great idea, must "teach" college students to embrace diversity outside of school and work.

Must make social "progress" regardless of the methods used.

So when you join the armed forces those mandated trainings are out of line as well?

As a student you literally sign a contract at the start of your enrollment. If you decide you don't like those terms and decide to deviate then generally you fail. It's that simple. How is this so hard to understand?

the armed forces teach cadets to kill people and survive. traditional masculine leadership. public education is dis-empowering and splits men against women, races against each other, and the only reason for discrepancies between said groups is malice. all thats left is a nihilistic and post modern deconstruction. moral relativism where kids can are encouraged to undergo irreversible hormone therapy or worse surgery. embracing mental illnesses like gender dysphoria as inclusive.

deconstruct masculinity, deconstruct gender, deconstruct the family, deconstruct fathers, deconstruct traditional courtship in favor of hook up culture and herpes.

https://www.nas.org/articles/homogenous_political_affiliations_of_elite_liberal%20

Quote:
In this article I offer new evidence about something readers of Academic Questions already know: The political registration of full-time, Ph.D.-holding professors in top-tier liberal arts colleges is overwhelmingly Democratic. Indeed, faculty political affiliations at 39 percent of the colleges in my sample are Republican freeโ€”having zero Republicans. The political registration in most of the remaining 61 percent, with a few important exceptions, is slightly more than zero percent but nevertheless absurdly skewed against Republican affiliation and in favor of Democratic affiliation. Thus, 78.2 percent of the academic departments in my sample have either zero Republicans, or so few as to make no difference.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/01/11/the-dramatic-shift-among-college-professors-thats-hurting-students-education/?utm_term=.1a1685e32464
Quote:
In 1990, according to survey data by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA, 42 percent of professors identified as "liberal" or "far-left." By 2014, that number had jumped to 60 percent.

Over the same period, the number of academics identifying as "moderate" fell by 13 percentage points, and the share of "conservative" and "far-right" professors dropped nearly six points. In the academy, liberals now outnumber conservatives by roughly 5 to 1. Among the general public, on the other hand, conservatives are considerably more prevalent than liberals and have been for some time.

Derp.

Hard hitting talk there. Obvious being obvious.

That has absolutely nothing to do with student school contract just like the military enlisted contract. If you donโ€™t like the terms then quit, ya big baby. The exception here being that quitting school over your own convictions doesnโ€™t ruin your life.

You guys are such fucking snowflakes. You canโ€™t even reconcile that things are different in a system that consists of voluntary participation. It hurts your tendies. You must have so many good boy points.

Of course highly educated people tend to be liberal. Conservatives are anti-intellectual. The single most reliable predictor of trump support is low educational attainment.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/11/09/behind-trumps-victory-divisions-by-race-gender-education/%3famp=1
Quote:
in the 2016 election, a wide gap in presidential preferences emerged between those with and without a college degree. College graduates backed Clinton by a 9-point margin (52%-43%), while those without a college degree backed Trump 52%-44%. This is by far the widest gap in support among college graduates and non-college graduates in exit polls dating back to 1980. For example, in 2012, there was hardly any difference between the two groups: College graduates backed Obama over Romney by 50%-48%, and those without a college degree also supported Obama 51%-47%.
Among whites, Trump won an overwhelming share of those without a college degree; and among white college graduates โ€“ a group that many identified as key for a potential Clinton victory โ€“ Trump outperformed Clinton by a narrow 4-point margin.

maybe i wasnt clear enough. ill explain myself in simpler terms for you. your point is "why not go to another school and take different classes right?" sounds reasonable in a diverse education pool. well the professors at most schools in most humanities especially are liberal, progressive and out right communist.

Not even remotely my point. The point is, if youโ€™re so fucking smart then prove it. You shouldnโ€™t need to appease the academics, theyโ€™ll come to you. Unless of course there is some merit to the system. But that canโ€™t be, certainly not in the age of the greatest scientific advancement in the history of the fucking world. Again, you sound like a rube and prove it post over post.

Please, derp some more.

i was responding to this. students have extremely low opportunities of choosing to attend a school taught and run by anything besides liberals, progressives, and communists.
trade schools and private schools might have a chance.

Again, you are too daft to understand what i'm saying.

If you are smart enough to not need higher education then prove it! Otherwise, those liberal, progressive, and communist (lol, dummest thing you've said yet) schools are correct in their methods. Until you can prove otherwise you continue to be the outlier. To simplify it for you, conservative and right wing higher education doesn't exist for a reason, it's because they refute facts, refute science, and generally have decided to be heritics. I.E. believers of bullshit and whatever they 'feel', just like you.

Trade schools are great, I learned to be a machinist in one. Machinists in my experience tend to be off the charts liberal, often times more progressive than the people I went to college with. That includes when I completed my Masters of Science. Please, ask a machinist how a 30% tariff on tooling has helped their life, or how a constant war on collective bargaining has improved their livelihood, if you do they are going to hit you square in the noggin with the hammer they turned during week 3 of trade school.

Please, tell me more about the communist (the word by definition doesn't even apply) colleges in the United States.

Foot in mouth, buddy.
