I was doing some work on a historical building that was being converted to a bar once.  We were putting ada compliant fixtures in an upstairs restroom.  All of a sudden, the whole west half of the building started to shake and rumble so I ran downstairs to see what the fuck.  Turns out, someone had gone to pick up a bunch of day laborers to do some demo work and one of them was hammering away at this huge center post that was supporting a huge beam that was holding up that corner of the building.  They had already knocked all the rest of the posts out of a 40ish ft span.
