Tampanensis Grow with Mycolorado * 20

TAMPANENSIS

Substrate (Dry Ingredients by Weight):

Hpoo 40%
Coir 40%
Straw 10%
Paper 10%
Hydrated to field capacity and sterilized

This project was started with spores from my previous tamp grow Mycolorado’s Tamp Fruit Project, and produced some crazy looking cultures:

One of the last cultures of the #1 line was moved to oat grains and then spawned to the above substrate blend hydrated to filed capacity.  I messed this up as I typically prep the mix a tad wet and let the mixture soak overnight but I rushed it and skipped that step resulting in a dry sub.  A 2# bag was noc’d with 1 qrt oat spawn on 12/11 and left to colonize for about four weeks.  It never really looked great but I broke it open and moved about half to a small tub.  I laid down a dusting of sand straight from the bag and soaked it till I could see the sub hydrating below as I wanted to get some water into it.  I then cased with pasteurized 1:1:.5 jiffy:fine verm:sand to a 1/4” depth and sprayed again.  I popped the top on and in about 10 days started to see some scattered pins.  At this point I placed the tub with the lid askew in the tent and maintained a high rh and temps between 75-77F with constant air movement.  As fruit came in the tub was sprayed with a fine mist around 3 times a day (my climate is DRY!).

These are all a day apart except the first two are 3 days apart starting on 1/16:

Grabbed a couple that were looking tall and ready to print:

Printing dark:

Once they finish up, I’ll get them printed and to the Marketplace.  Hope you enjoyed the grow!

Yeah, I’ve found there is a direct correlation between PDA/PDYA and getting tamps and othe mexicanae to pin on the plate making it easy to see which cultures are gonna be heavy pinners/good fruiters.

No, I believe stonesun or somebody was using jiffy cactus mix which is sandy and I couldn’t find it so I improvised.  It also allowed me the opportunity to test diff ratios to see what was best for my cultures. All in all, tamps were purportedly collected in sandy soil so that was a big indicator for me.  bw86 also used the dusting method on his Jalisco grow which is in my sig and is awesome.
