Yeah that's true  but maybe that's what they think you'd relate to. The Archons. :hellfire:

Icelander said:
Yeah that's the most common skeptic explanation.

What about people who repeat things said or done in ER that happen in the middle of the procedure when the brain is fully offline?  Doctors and nurses claim this stuff happens from what I've read.

Also considering how different peoples psychedelic experiences can be why such a similarity in themes. Especially things like a life review?

Why would this even be happening in the brain? They are not like dreams proper.

these NDE experiences are tremendously similar to lucid dreams with sleep paralysis.
As mentioned above the set and setting is all about death or medical danger. That sets up the TRIP, and you know Psychedelia is about Set and setting....

Anyway as for "people who repeat things said or done in ER that happen in the middle of the procedure when the brain is fully offline" the accuracy of this needs to be challenged and verified in each case: we know that memory is largely reconstructive, so unless someone yelled out
"Oh no, I lost the Green Sponge" during the flat line period, (or some other explicit and unusual unique comment)
and never mentioned it again later,
then what is reported by the NDE survivor upon emerging, if it does not include this explicit comment, is most likely reconstructing a scenario.
Typically NDE reports are entirely plausible scenes including the major actors that were on the scene when they awaken.

Remember how Dorothy singles out each individual in her room who was an active agent in her dream when she wakes from the Wizard of Oz.

well don't take my word for it.

I too would click my heels just in case:
"there's not place like home, there's no place like home..."

Yeah I certainly don't have answers to all of this.  I read one where a doc took out this guys false teeth when they were working on him and his brain was flatlined.  When the guy was awake later he asked for his teeth and they said they didn't know what he was talking about. He said the doc took them out and put them in a drawer and described right where that was and the doc went in and found them and then remembered he had put them there. I thought that was pretty interesting. The doc couldn't explain it.

I have to say I'm still skeptical that any of this is proof of an afterlife but on the other hand I'm not ready to make it a hard belief that there is none. Life is pretty strange. I guess if  you can believe that a universe came out of nowhere. (or as McKenna says of the scientists "just give us one free miracle and we'll explain the rest.) then you should be able to believe in the possibility of something after this life. The trouble with new ideas in the scientific community is you have problems due to human nature. A scientist makes a living out of his work and often is not willing to jeopardize their standing in the scientific community by being open to things that go against the current paradigm.  They can be easily discredited over it and lose $$ and stature.

Of course, no scientist says that. It is a dishonest misrepresentation by McKenna to play up to his audience.

What they DO say is that what came "before" or what caused the Big Bang is unknowable through physics and that that line of inquiry is likely forever closed.

Yeah you're  right. There's probably a lot that's unknowable. I can't even check their math.

Hey Red there are several accounts of NDEs from people blind from birth claiming they see in NDEs and give accurate accounts of what they saw?  How do we explain those?

My wife asks me where she put things all the time and I tell her where to find them because I am 95% right about that for her, even when I was nowhere nearby at the time of the 'hiding' event.... I merely suggest what makes sense to me.
It may seem uncanny, and I don't connect it with the supernatural, or with my frequent small dose psychedelic use.

People with dentures have been known to put them away in drawers. it is not unreasonable to see that in a dream.

As for an explanation of blind people seeing in their accounts of NDE's that needs to be looked at on a case by case basis with the full details,  first hand.

I don't offer explanations of everything we do not know, but I can find things my wife misplaces most of the time without nearly dying.

So if you saw a report from a blind person who had an NDE that seemed credible would that have any effect on your position at all?

I don't have a position on it, I have some analysis that is consistent; but the report would deliver some of the facts of those cases.

people can have opinions, and facts may or may not corroborate them.
enter the age of fake news (not really we always had lies and propaganda) in with the purpose of information was to make people move (their opinions etc.) .

then what, take over the vacant opinion?

TM said fakers are everywhere among humanity. I certainly agree.

Even the scientific community has them which is a real drag because the scientific method is a proper tool.

On psychedelic trips (and even sober) I have experienced states of consciousness that I believe pertain to many different sages I recognise from past known history and some to which I couldn't attach a particular sage (for instance states of consciousness that were clearly celtic in nature).

I have experienced Christ consciousness, Buddha consciousness and Muhammadan consciousness. It's difficult to say what christ consciousness is like but I can say Buddha consciousness is characterized by equanimity and Muhammadan consciousness by submission. Although I was familiar with buddhist teachings before these experiences, I wasn't particularly familiar with Islamic ones. Yet I felt a very strong compulsion or force to pray in the Islamic fashion once that state of consciousness had come over me.

I still have these states of consciousness come over me whenever I take drugs and I can switch between them almost at will. They are always very consistent with the previous time that state of consciousness came over me.

I think the reason people experience things from one tradition in an NDE and not another is because those sages through attaining moksha/enlightenment have had a lasting impact on the collective consciousness of man, they have imprinted it with their own unique thumbprint if you like. So in the NDE you access one state through invoking the words of one sage and another state though the words of another sage. Yet the themes among these states of consciousness have great similarities despite being creatively different and interesting angles, like different approaches to the same spiritual realities.

It also could be that the things happening in g*d realm are universal and they only translate into the cultural programming one endured before, so they become more easy to understand.
