I think the point is pretty much any animal can be aggressive, and almost any large dog can be dangerous in the wrong circumstance.

The only data I could find on dog deaths says there were 41 dog related deaths in 1 year, 20 of which were from "pit bulls". But you have to wonder how many of those were actually pit's with how often other breeds are mistaken for them... Then you also have to take into account that many pit's are owned by terrible owners, so many of those attacks likely wouldn't have happened if the dogs were treated better.

Not saying that's always the case but I wager it plays a role in a lot of dog related incidents.

Hell the last serious dog attack I remember reading about happened when a mother left her kid outside in an enclosed trampoline with her "friendly" dogs
