... I'm not so sure about this post bro. Red bull is over the counter stimulant drink.
I dont know.. should caffiene be illegal? Its bad on your heart... its certainly not good for you. You can learn more here: http://redbull.com/

I'm going to move this thread.. to the Pub.. because I dont know where else it belongs.. i dont think its OTD material.. but its not ODD material.

I've found the combo of a couple of Red Bulls and some green bowls are great for extended road trips. You get buzzed and stay awake, but the green will sort of take the "edge" off.

red bull does give you wings. though, i can drink three or four of em.

just saw on headline news a few weeks ago about a legal drink that contains extracts of the cocoa plant from Peru (?) that may be exported to the US.

though, it is said to have less kick then a cup of coffee. but 12-15 of those babies, who knows where it'll take ya.

"cocoa plant from Peru"

uhh you either mean Coca.. or cocoa.. cocoa is chocolate.. coca is coca.. i'm sure you know that coca cola contained extracts of the coca plant.. i've heard that it was simply flavoring from the coca plant as well as pure cocaine..would like to get it straightened out in my mind.

yeah, coca.

coca cola exports approx. 6 tons of coca plant extracts a year. the extract is non-psychoactive, and your right, its used for flavor.

you drink three a day? why?
i'm in a calculating mood today..

around here thats 2 bucks a pop times 3 a day. 6 dollars a day times 7 days a week. 42 beans a week at 4 weeks a month. so you spend around 168 scripts a month on red bull!? i know not exactly that, maybe you shop at a bulk store... but damn. red bull hooked themselves a good one.

do you crave red bull? or feel like your day hasn't started without one?

...and one of those drugs is Taurine

Isn't this something that the feline body uses to regulate some compound or another? I could be wrong, but I've gotten a few stories to that effect...checking up on that now.

found this:
"Taurine is a non-essential amino acid and is found in high concentrations in the white blood cells, skeletal muscles, central nervous system as well as the heart muscles. In adults, but not children, this nutrient can be manufactured from methionine in the body and from cysteine in the liver, but vitamin B6 must be present.

It is a key ingredient of bile, which in turn is needed for fat digestion, absorption of fat-soluble vitamins as well as the control of cholesterol serum levels in the body. (It is incorporated in the bile acid chenodeoxychloic acid, which emulsify the dietary fats) This nutrient is also used in the proper use of potassium, calcium as well as sodium in the body, and for maintaining cell membrane integrity. It is thought to be helpful with anxiety, hyperactivity, poor brain function and epilepsy as well as hydrating the brain. Taurine, together with zinc is also required for proper eye health and vision."

My favorite energy drink is a beverage called XS. It is not available in stores... only via resellers through the Internet. I drank a can of it every day on my cross-Iowa bike ride. It's made for people who are actually doing strenuous exercise..... not people looking for a quick pick-me-up... which is why it can't be found in stores. Tastes great.... non carbonated..... 4300% of you B12 vitamins for a good day of hard work.

May i just ad that in some countries in europe Red Bull is not allowed
. I would say mainly because of some of the substances and the "buzz" it gives. (double standards imo)

The hysteria over these drinks when they first appeared was pretty ridiculous. It doesn't get you high or give you a buzz. It doesn't have bull sperm or urine or chopped up cats in it.
A mug of espresso coffee is stronger than a red bull. Sure it contains B vitamins and supplements and whatever, but I'd think that the phenomenal amount of sugar in every can pretty much negates any health benefits you get from drinking it.
I still like it though!

I'm addicted to it.. i have gained signifigant amount of weight because of it. Caffine destroys your metabolism.. and the sugar and carbs don't help either. I drink like two a day and i have for 2-3 years now.. and i can't quit. I feel i'm addicted to Red Bull almost equally as i am to smoking.

Hehe, i have to admit it is a bit extreme to call it an addiction.
Alot of people can't function without they'r morning coffee, so it's
more of a preference thing. You don't hear them ranting on how they are drinking to much of it :P

I don't think its really addictive. I used to drink tons of it but now days i only use it to mix drinks and then only as a partial ingredient.

I actually work for red bull. The reason the can is small is because you really only need one can to give you "energy". Almost everything in redbull is naturally in your body, and when some of these things in your body get depleted you get tired, and what red bull does is replenish them. THe caffiene is the same amount of a cup of coffee, and its only put in their to make the other crap get in your blood stream quicker. Im ofcourse giving you the short end of explaining red bull. ALso the reason why other countries are banning red bull like france, is the fact that those countries cannot sell engergy drinks. THis is hard to explain, but they do not allow drinks with supplements in them and call them energy drinks or something like that im really not sure, but its along those lines. Also, i shouldnt say this but I think that if you drink too much red bull each day it screws really bad with your stomach and digestion. THey say you just pee out everything your body doesnt take from the red bull. But at least three other former employees that used to drink it all the time three or more a day have had severe stomach problems. heh O well I do get tons of free red bull, but i do not drink more than two a day!hope this helped a little bit. If you have anyother questions feel free to pm me or email me!

Red Bull is okay by itself. Red Bull and vodka is much better though. My drink of choice at bars. :crazy2:

If I just need a pick-me-up I'll drink a Starbucks Doubleshot. Gets the job done better than Red Bull for keeping me wide awake.

I hate the taste of the stuff way too sweet, I think the reason its so popular over here is because its great as a mixer.

There was an item on a talk show over here where they gave three people 4 cans of red bul each to drink and tested their driving on a simulator before and after. Apparently its almost as bad as having one or two alcoholic drinks, 2 of the peoples driving got worse but the other woman actually got better but they said the same thing happened during similar experiments with alcohol.

red bull definately gives me the most energy out of any of those drinks. but i must say my favorite overall is sobe energy rush (the citrus tasting one). as mndfreeze said, less of a energy tweak, more of a energy roll

yah i can see them fuckers doing some damage from daily use... i just cant afford it. I like them when I'm doing a latenight drive though and dont want hot coffee (comin home from a night of dancin) :stoned:

I love it too, the lemon twist is my second favorite, I love the spicy one. The pacente is very good also. I love V-8 I just wish it didn't have so much sodium.

I love tomato juice too.

I don't drink much red bull, it's okay but I usually only drink it when I'm on the road travelling, I still like coffee better then anyways.

I'm going to have to get the Sobe drink some day though.

I picked up a 4-pack of Red Bull for my trip out to Colorado tonite. Also something called Invigor8 which I tried at Bonnaroo this year.  I'll be leaving town around 1am or so and heading towards Denver all night.  And a buddy just IMed me.... wants us to stop at his apt on our way out of town for a smoke.  Oh well.... This weekend is going to be a road-trip-binge..... I love it.  :wexican:
