Grain soaking

Hey all,

Whenever I've used rye grain, i haven't soaked it and have just added the appropriate amount of water to the jars before pcing, as is outlined at MushMush.com . When using other grains such as wbs and popcorn, i've always pre-soaked the grain. After reading this in the Cultivation section, which outlines a method of preparing wbs without pre-soaking, i was wondering; which grains can be used just by adding water to jars before pcing instead of presoaking, what are the water levels for different grains and how do results compare to pre-soaked grain? Any feedback on any of these questions would be great.

Presoaking is the way to go. You always get the perfect water content. You never know how fresh or dry your grains are. I've did the recipies and presoak both and the latter is the best by far IMO.
