Nothing is going to change until we clean out congress.
Period.

So shifting even more of the tax burden onto them is gonna save them?

Trump isnt going to save these jobs. And neither is crony capitalism.

Regardless, at LEAST he's addressing the issue, Obama and others sat silent for decades refusing to even acknowledge the problem.

Pretty sure jobs has been the central issue for a while now, some have tried to address it, some with slight success but most with failure, it remains to be seen whether doling out more corporate welfare to extend the lifespan of certain jobs by a few years will be a success for the American worker.

But make no mistake, Trump isnt trying some brand new scheme to save American jobs. He's cowering in the face of corporate America like every president in modern history. Which is particularly hilarious because he was elected explicitly to do the opposite.

What's with the ???

Here's a chart that's more current.  It doesn't change anything:

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Interesting chart, but I'm not sure what your message is?

There is a LOT more manufacturing work being done in East Asia that can be moved back to the US.  Practically everything I own says "made in China" on it.

"Pretty sure jobs has been the central issue for a while now"

That's true, but the outsourcing of jobs has not been a central issue until Trump (and Sanders) addressed it this election cycle.

Hell, Obama almost sneaked the TPP into law before he sailed into sunset.

"can be moved back to the US"

I agree, please explain to me why everyone else in this forum thinks it's impossible?

Even if we get back  5-10 million of those jobs, that would create another 20 million domestic jobs as a result.

When the US loses 1 high quality manufacturing job, we really lose another 2-3 domestic jobs as well.

What bothers me (not that I am anti-technology) is that our efficient progress...
the "post post" industrial period we are in seems to have a high probability of eliminating jobs.

Can you imagine what this looks like a decade from now?
Additionally,The US has been a service economy for quite sometime.
I am all for bringing jobs back; but things get lost in the muck if we dont focus on the type of jobs to remain/bring here.

How about them shovel ready jobs from prez Obama?

Corporate welfare? How has taxing these corporations up the ass been working out?

I can see that by that chart they been fleeing the fuck out of this country for decades now.

High taxes aren't keeping them here, so what's the fucking point?
