Psilocybe semilanceata and ps. cyanescens from Belgium (2016)
    #23801296 - 11/04/16 05:31 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Hello folks, I thought I'd share the results of my recent hunts (West-Flemish province of Belgium).

First off psilocybe semilanceata, the pics aren't that spectacular, but I found some great cow pastures nearby where ps. semilanceata is the prevalent mushroom species.

this was the harvest from a short hunt earlier this week:

these are pictures I took today:

This is the location, and if you look carefully you can find 3 specimens in the pic (a bit like "where's wally?")

And this is the harvest of the first flush of psilocybe cyanescens earlier this week. These 'wavy caps' are native to Belgium, I found them years ago growing in a local cemetery (see signature) and have been growing them in outdoor patches (and spreading them wherever I can ) every year since.

Both species have been confirmed as pretty potent by your truly

Here are some more pictures:

This is my box containing the ps. cyanescens (sorry for the bad quality phone pic):

freshly harvested wavy caps:

here's the first ps. semilanceata I found this year, next to what is most likely Agaricus campestris or A. bisporus. The latter were delicious on a spinach pizza, the taste and smell was much stronger than the white button mushrooms you buy in the supermarket.

Here's some more pics from my last hunt. I had to use my crappy cell phone camera though, hence the lower quality.

some location pics:

I first thought these were cows, turned out they were horses with the same black/white pattern as the Frisian type of cows (most common type here):

There were also a lot of Panaeolus cinctulus (subbalteatus) growing in this field. Their identity was confirmed at home, they gave jet black sporeprints:

Nice liberty caps!
I think you Panaeolus might be something like olivaceus.
