A odor of anything other then fresh mushrooms is normally a nail in the coffin.... you will be able to tell a bacteria infection if the mushrooms are scrany since the mycelium is fighting it....I wouldn't eat those personally. ...

HybridprX your info is all messed up brother, don't talk if u know nothing, do a little research next time you feel like commenting lol.

And Inocuole is 100% right, and i agree with him with what he said, i passed my microbiology class due to members like him. :lmafo:

You can see bacteria easily in this jar, and look at how the mycelium's morphology changed, this is just an example:

And spore guy, don't worry its just bateria, it will fruit, this is a pic of that spawn i showed in bulk, its already fruiting and looks healthy:

If it pins soon enough for you, you can clone and work your way to a clean culture, its a very easy process.

If it's a multi spore inoculation you have a bunch of different growth....rhizmphoric mycelium like that is not a sign of bacteria, it's mixed genetics.

If mycelium recovers after shaking the grain jar it is clean...if the tub with odd multispore growth shows Ariel mycelium it is not a sign of bacteria... metabolites are a sure sign and the sweet/sour odor is another. If it smells sweet/sour before full colonization then it's done.... if it smells like fresh mushrooms don't worry... you did use ms so both their arguments are null and they're looking like puppets of someone's ego.

OP, Inocuole is your savior. HybridprX obviously has no idea what he is talking about. You have bacteria, guaranteed, 100%. The fact that he is still arguing this when multiple veteran cultivators have said otherwise is just laughable. No, that kind of growth is NEVER good. It is not genetic diversity at all. HybridprX is very confused and misinformed.

The best course of action with bacteria is to just ignore it like its not there. You can get fruits more often than not.

yeah bacteria is real easy to spot once you get some experience and know what to look for.
MS inoculation, not having shaken the jar yet, none of this leads to bacteria. bacteria does.
its very common to have in grows to some extent, when it goes real bad you can spot it easily as here,
you can also see lowered yields on known cultures and it usually takes longer for the sub to colonize.

Is this a generalization or can it be used to guarantee clean spawn for a master before expanding or spawning? (assuming 100% recovery)

A jar can recover while still being bacterial. Until you know what bacterial affected cube mycelium looks like, no. It's not a guarantee.

Most bacteria don't even give off a smell. Your info is shit. I have never been able to sniff out a contam, bacteria or otherwise but I sure as shit did loose grows because of them. A strange smell can confirm that you have bacteria but what it can't do is guarantee that your jar is clean when you don't have it.

The grows being multispore doesn't even matter, you can easily see the reaction of the stressed mycelium once you are able to spot a bacterial contam. The only time you can't learn how to spot a bacteria contam is when you are too stubborn to admit you have it. Just because a tub fruits, doesn't make it healthy.

 oh god this guy. I remember thinking the same shit as him. People get paid big bucks by mushroom farmers for clean spawn, and I guarantee there's more to it than if it's white and smells good... a kindergartener can do that.

6/29 Pictures

Things are pretty much status quo on the aerial / funny mycelium growth. I've yet to see anything that points towards pinning or knotting but I'm not worried yet.

My question for today is how do my evaporation rings / tub humidity look to you guys? I misted the tub (walls, not substrate) at 6am and gave it a little fanning came back about 4pm (10hrs later) to see this much evaporation. My room had its windows open and the ceiling fan on its lowest setting to circulate the air. I would also like to add in that it is like 3 inches away from my wall in my room in the last picture, I know this is not ideal but it is how I have to have it for the time being. This is why I like to fan and mist it often because I understand it is in less than ideal conditions.

Just after I just go back to take these pictures I fanned and misted the walls AND substrate this time because it finally looked like it was starting to dry up. Still smells fine and the heat has seemed to get a bit lower these past 12 or so hours.

Inoc said something once along the lines of:

I hope one day you're found in the desert, dying of thirst. The rescuers take you to a nice room with a/c, and when they ask if you're thirsty, they proceed to spray the walls around you with water. Only then will you see the irony in your statement.

Very much paraphrased.

I guess what I mean in, walls don't need water.

(I usually come of as a dick when I say things but never mean it like that, so if I sound like im being an asshole it because I have poor word choice)

The reason I misted the walls of the mono but not the substrate was because I wanted to keep the humidity up but i knew that the sub still has a bunch of moisture in it and didn't want to keep it waterlogged. Is that wrong or what should I be doing different?

You shouldn't mist your sub yet. Not until it's at 100% really. If anything, you misting the walls shows that the rings around your top and bottom poly are looking just fine. So you can tell everyone to stick it

It's better to just dial it in better.

Also, your tray's quite bacterial.

6/30 Pictures

Things are going as they were before. I've stopped misting the mono since yesterday afternoon, I don't plan on misting either of them unless I am told / read otherwise. I understand that this is a mono and I shouldn't need to fan it, but with it being close to the wall and whatnot, but should I try to keep bringing in FAE or just let it do its thing. I do not know its status of colonization so I'm not sure exactly what is best for the tub right now.

I re-packed my tub as this thread says and hopefully will have it tuned in soon enough. I think the casing is close to being done with mycelium growth on it but that's just a guess.

After I took a shower last night I was starting to get a little disheartened with my project, but I still want to do my best with this one and start to improve what I'm doing.

Never loose hope bro, and if this doesn't succeed, never give up, and learn from your mistakes rather than being disheartened.

Btw the casing isn't supposed to be colonised, but since its already in fruiting conditions i guess the mycelium just couldn't resist colonising it, either way, just leave it be for now.

Bacteria could be on your side and encourage the mycelium to fruit just like my tub.

Keep a positive mind bro! And you shall reap what you have sown soon :awesomenod::thumbup:

Damn those are some serious crystals.. Haven't seen them like that in a while, you should still get something out of that though, dude.

And when I case at spawn my casing always colonizes. But you cased after 100% so it shouldn't be as colonized as that is. Don't sweat it though OP this might get good real soon...

Op... the mycelium has colonized the portion of substrate I suspected may have been a bacteria splotch...if it colonized that means it's not bacteria...

The thicker growth is just aggressive mycelium from Ms but you do have some overlay.... other then that, seeing your tub today....your going to yeild a crop 100% for sure...

You have to be careful of the kids on this site from the pub section...they'll come on here and try to make the old time cultivators look stupid just for something to do....they're probably fat kids living at their mom's and dad's that Jerk off to porn all day and try to look smart by coining new terms.. fuck what those guys told you....look at my gallery... I know what I'm talking about.
