He was a security guard for a private company and most likely received firearms training for his job. While I generally agree with this, if you couple a bumpfire stock with an AR15 it has a rate of fire pretty close to a fully automatic M16.

It's also worth noting that if the shooter "knew his shit" he would've gone with a more damaging round like the 7.63x39.

Well....It's actually a 7.62 and yes it has been a proven field gun but it has a lot more recoil and the clips carry fewer rounds. And, by the way...It didn't appear that there was any problems with the gun being lethal. The 7.62 is a heavier bullet but that "killing advantage" can be overcome with the higher velocity of the .223. Plus the AR-15 is a shit ton more accurate.

In my opinion, the shooter was an adult with children, he bears the full responsibility for his actions. Regardless of his upbringing or his father's beliefs, his action are wholly his own. He was a psychopath.

I don't think parents should be asked to be held responsible for the actions of their adult children.

When the shooter is a teenager like a lot of the school shootings, then the parents need to be put front and center and be made to answer for their shitty parenting.
