The Dead and 4/20
    #2587138 - 04/21/04 01:53 PM (19 years, 11 months ago)

"The origins of the "4/20" term being a code for cannabis are shrouded in mystery. Some have claimed that it is a police code for a marijuana offence, but this has never been confirmed and is likely just a rumor. The most credible evidence shows that the "4/20" expression began among high-school students in San Rafael, California, who used the expression as a code to meet for tokes after school at 4:20. The term got picked up by the Greatful Dead culture and spread from there."

I always thought that the 420 police code for marijuana smoking in progress thing was the true origins of 420 but aparantly not..

Any old heads rember using 420 back in the day.
